All of us kena locked in :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

1. I am happily locked in with Starhub for three lines.

Starhub Prepaid S (Happy Prepaid migration offer) at S$3 per month x 2 lines, mainly for number parking purpose (previous number for me and my wife). Unlikely we will change them.

Eight (subsidiary of Starhub) -- Eight S$8 plan for the next 22 months (effective price at S$4 per month due to the S$88 one-to-one top-up offer), for backup and roaming

2. Then we are also semi-locked to two Singtel lines. I may explore alternative in August 2026 though.
Singtel SIM Only Plan S$15.28 per month, main line for me and my wife.

3. I have not decided whether to change my daughter's main line under my name -- Starhub Prepaid S plan at S$10 per month (somehow no migration offer from Starhub Happy Prepaid). It is good enough for her use case (80GB monthly data) and there are no really cheaper 5G plans if we do not consider special top-up offers.

Many users also get "stuck" with certain plans due to great offers, no issues with that.

Last time many of us were stuck with the 24 months contract with devices anyway.

Good advice.
Don’t wait when you spot a good deal. Similar to $3.3 CL deal. 9 months free ST MVNOs deal etc..

In case of Singtel 50% OFF offer, no problem to stick with them for 6 months or 12 months either.

But for Eight and SIMBA one-to-one top-up offer, it is probably a good idea not to top-up too much either in case you want to try out new things.

One example of topping up too much for SIMBA.
my main line under Simba... would've ported out if i hadn’t topped up too much from their previous promotions... for their signal really unbearable

SIMBA's data-only 5G plan is $5 per 30 days. Does that one count?🤔

Not for her use case as we still need to call her occassionally (just in case WhatsApp does not work). The data only plan does not have voice/SMS.

Now you mention data only SIM Only plans, I will need to carry out more research on them. I tend to think they are good for some special use cases like iPad or roaming but not for a main line.

no choice.... admin fees.... else zym $10.90 for ownership transfer.

$5 x 12 = $60
$8 x 12 = $96

$5 x 5 years = $300
$8 x 5 years = $480
found the catch. i knew it. this is SG style

but pay Early termination still cheaper in long run

New Line Sign-ups
Minimum 1-month commitment period applies for new sign-ups on Contract with Device + Plan Add-on (if any) and Plan with Device + Plan Add-on (if any), and SIM-only Plan. Early termination charge equivalent to 1 month’s subscription is applicable for termination during the commitment period. This early termination charge is without prejudice to and on top of any applicable termination or downgrade charge under your Device Contract.
