Also provides peace of mind actually, no need worry if the auto-renewal will take place.

I have encountered a few times whereby the auto-recharge did not take place, have to manually recharge for a new plan.

Somehow, the auto-recharge did not recharge :ROFLMAO:

never encounter such issue before, auto renewal works seamlessly monthly,

if need to go overseas also can choose to turn off, or upgrade to hugger plan temporary, better than using annual plan which has no flexibility.

Giga was launched when Gomo came out, obviously to compete with it. Now Gomo is rather quite a small player if not close to irrelevant for most of us, it is really time for Giga being in the same situation, to leave. I am surprised ST ditch Heya and not Gomo.

Interestingly I just saw a Google Advertisement where SingTel says Gomo is SG's #1 No Contract plan. :ROFLMAO:

SingTel heya is not popular. I tend to think Gomo has many more customers than heya. On the other hand, SingTel heya is more a rebranding and internal structure change than real closure. Now SingTel Prepaid Team manages Singtel hi! Brand, both the prepaid 5G plans and postpaid 4G plans.

For StarHub, it is probably the other way around, eight has many more customers than giga. One of my colleagues is using giga and once I show him the offering from eight, he agrees that eight is better.

Heya is to compete with Simba but very half-heartedly implemented, after which ST is relying on its minions instead. Guess it is ST that kills Heya but in fact it is 1 of its best offer. True, Gomo has a much bigger customer base as it starts early and with its 12months lower price offer, it has a loyal group, hence it remains. But being unable to attract new subscribers, it may be undergoing a slow death.

Careful with the free 88-days - it is given as 3 additional stacked plans after the first one that you pay for.
Was wondering what would happen if I upgraded my $8 plan to say travel in Q1 2026 to increase intl roaming data - found the below in the FAQ.
Do take note if you're travelling during the next few month, might be better to start off with more roaming data and then downgrade.

If you have stacked plans and choose to upgrade your current plan, all stacked plans will be terminated immediately upon upgrade.

but eight actually not forum or social group regulars may not be aware of 'eight' this MVNOs.

most of the ppl who are not familiar with MVNOs only know SIMBA the most.

But Simba champion. 5g on everything now.

Based on my testing, Eight S$8 4G plan is a bit better than SIMBA S$12 fake 5G plan for local usage.

I have terminated SIMBA line. And I will keep Eight at least for the next 22 months (S$88 one to one top-up offer).

Then M1 Maxx S$10 5G plan is better than Eight 4G plan for local usage. But M1 has removed 5G from the S$10 plan. I have terminated M1 Maxx since it does not have free voice roaming. Eight and SIMBA have free voice roaming.

Have you tested if Eight 5G is much better than eight 4G ?

I have not tested Eight 5G but I have tested with Starhub Prepaid S 5G plan (80GB only) and it is indeed better than Eight 4G in terms of speed and coverage (5G with 4G fall-back). In terms of SpeedTest results, often 10 times faster.

On the other hand, I have not tested Starhub Prepaid S extensive enough, much less than the testing of M1 Maxx 5G. Still since Eight 5G, Starhub Prepaid S 5G and M1 Maxx 5G all use the same 5G network (at least the Radio Access Network), I expect Eight 5G to be much better than Eigth 4G for my use cases.

Take note I do not take MRT during peak hours. I communte daily to workplace using Bus. I only take MRT over the weekend (EWL, NSL and Circles Line only, seldom going to the east side).

Actually Eight has many advertisement so many users may know Eight. Eight also got many dealers, just like SIMBA. So many users who know SIMBA may know Eight as well.

BTW, many of my colleagues know Eight and SIMBA. And the impression for SIMBA is in general "lousy" for local usage. Previously that "lousy" comment goes to M1 (compared to Singtel and Starhub).

That being said, SIMBA is pretty good for roaming usage. SIMBA Senior Plan is also very good.

among my friends and colleagues are opposite. Most of them do not know eight at all.
