I am currently paying $8. I figure out what one of the member above said , if I were to upgrade to 5g, I may end up be paying more than $19.

shoppee china eSIM for 5 days with 10gb cost $4. I think $12.00 makes more economical sense since I have the eight $8 and just buy a china eSIM which has vpn , and they say quite good according to reviews
Best option for travelling to china is to get a temp cmlink SIM card for one month, subscribe to a plan that gives enough roaming data, and combine this with existing eight $8 plan free roaming data which this will give u enough data for the whole trip.

seriously given such low monthly subscription, i wonder how much the sellers can make for the top up in terms of their profit margins :p

It’s similar to the situation where an item is sold at its recommended retail price (RRP).
The seller can still make sales, but the upstream distributor needs to take a cut in order to secure their share of the market.

For typical retail products, smaller sellers may drop below the RRP to boost sales.
However, that doesn’t apply to this product.
On top of that, selling online comes with high commission fees.

As a result, the effective discount can easily reach perhaps 30% off retail. (if seller want to protect their 10% margin "guess")
Online commissions alone range from about 10%+ to nearly 20%.

Eight network damn lag today both 5G and 4G mrt morning peak around 7.45am. North South line.

Anyone facing the same issues?
yesterday, I tried to use cdc vouchers at 7pm, lag until cannot load

eight 4G network has deteriorated alot, possibly due to over congestion
it was superb during the free trial, but not so good now

keeping the line for my twice a year overseas travel
I don't use much data locally, typically only 5-10 GB in a month

Yeah it was completely non usable during Mrt peak, thus i switch to 5G eight.

But iffy la, 1 week maybe 3 or 4 days work fine, other 3 days not working.

Damn it I reckon their top up 1 for 1 promo got catch one, cause network only half the time workable so they breakeven.

I tried their 5G but figured I rather pay $12 than $14.80 monthly for an iffy network.

Not sure how effective it is to complain to IMDA, anyone can share experience?

Apparently I feedback that there is completely no network at certain areas of Vivocity, eight is not responding to any of my emails not even acknowledgement.

IMDA tried to push back to eight. I told them they dont even acknowledge emails, how the hell i know whether they are even looking into it.

i think it is effective, as long as u raise official complaint, no matter how they must follow up. This is how it works in lion city.

The most complaints go to them, the fastest those telcos or MVNOs will need to react as well.

I thought about that too when Maxx was still $10, but Maxx strangely left out "Austria" for its roaming countries.

Was considering whether Zero 1 or Zym will work better during peak in mrt then 8 5G, than got stuck with eight 88+88 promo. What a bummer.

Their Asst Manager replied and try to Taiji.

Anyway i shoot back say they are not even responding after 1 month, is that even acceptable for service providers from IMDA POV.

Inside the email thread got evidence, that eight not responding even after multiple chasers

I waiting see what she reply.

Since it’s a public location, an alternative is to report through the OneService app.
But honestly, it feels like whoever gets assigned the case there just wants to close it quickly.

Email reports don’t seem effective either, especially if everyone treats it with a “bo chup” attitude.

VivoCity falls under the Radin Mas constituency, and the email details can be found in the provided link.

As if other network will have no issues during morning peak hours in MRT

After experiencing multiple different services (including the trial Singtel 5G+ Priority line), I've come to accept that mobile network will have good days and bad days in peak heavy traffic areas.

Feel free to keep jumping networks if not convinced LOL
