Good then. Thanks for the update.

eight 4G network can be very congested. That is why you may get very slow speed during peak time. Off-peak time, with good signals, speed should be quite okay.
Eight 4G during peak hours download can be less then 10mbps but good thing is the ping still less then 100.
The upload mostly during peak hours still can maintain at least 20mbps.
This ping thing is much better then Simba of 1000

@xiaofan

I believe MNO Starhub 5G lite $22 maybe a good choice for mainline with stable local speed. But one may need add a sub line eg Simba Eight if frequently traveling to minimize overall cost.

Yes, you can get StarHub 5G Lite plan at S$17.6 with Passion Card offer.

if can afford it better paid for mno for main line and sub line to eight

Good idea.

My personal combinations

1) SingTel S$15.28 per month 5G plan (12 month contract, recontract offer, not for port-in or new sign-ups)

2) StarHub Prepaid S 5G plan, S$3 per month, special Happy Prepaid Migration offer. Usual price is at S$10 per month.

3) eight S$8 4G plan (used by my wife now), effective price is only S$4 per month for 22 months because of the S$88 one for one top-up offer

Total effective price at S$22.28 per month, still not that expensive.

On the other hand, I also play with testing lines which I do not keep long. Currently I have one Zym S$10.1 per month 4G plan with free 5G trial (S$15.5 for 2.5 months due to an offer) and one M1 Maxx S$12 per month 5G plan.

giga suddenly becomes a strong competitor to eight 5G plan.

As per giga thread, giga 4G users start to get free upgrade to 5G.

giga's official 5G plan (S$15.90 minimum) is slightly more expensive than eight 5G (S$14.80 minimum). Do you have some special offers so you pay less than S$14.80 per month for giga 5G?
https://www.giga.com.sg/mobile

But if giga S$10.90 per month and S$12.90 per month 4G plans get free 5G upgrade, then that is cheaper than eight 5G.

Cheapest 5G plan on Starhub network is probably Starhub Prepaid S plan at S$10 per month but it has only 80GB local data.

Starhub (MNO) 5G Lite plan is actually pretty decent as well if you get the Passion Card offer at S$17.60 per month.

As for 4G plans, indeed Starhub 4G network is pretty congested. M1 4G network is not that congested but the coverage is not as good. If really want to go with 4G network, SingTel MVNOs' 4G plan may be a better option.

This seems like a good option to move if Singtel doesn't want to offer the 15.28 recontract promo.

Hi, I understand for Eight eSIM/PSIM must be activated in Singapore right? Does Eight allows immediately port out from the 1st month also? I'm thinking of porting in from Gomo to try out Eight's roaming, and if not happy will then port to 1 of Singtel MVNO to enjoy the 1-time 30GB 190+ country roaming. Thanks.

That's what I thought, so didn't bother to visit a service centre. Max they can do is help to feed back, but if office wants to delay then there's nothing they can do also.
I finally manage to port out after going to the clementi service centre.
The malay lady very nice help me to sort out the issue, eventually manage to port out.

That's great!

IMO their CSOs sitting in office seem to be different ones from those days. Either no reply or lost in their own thoughts.

Good that their service centre staff are still efficient.
