They didn't mention if SIM change at service centres is chargeable now?

Have they started to charge with this new feature in the app?

should still be free.

but seriously speaking, if purposely go down, the mrt/bus fare to and fro is also close to sgd5 as well. and need to queue.

i would rather pay the $5 for convenience. not to mention that one will at most change eSIM once they change new phone, which is unlikely to be so frequent.

and i still hope that eight will support the direct transfer of eSIM between iPhones which it will be free and most convenient.

My contract with S is ending on 8 Jun. I am porting out to Eight. When should I sign up a with them? Is there any charges for Physical Sim and esim for new sign up?

Is there a minimum committal period for eight? I'll be getting their value eight plan @ $10.80. Is there any penalty if I am to port out in less than a month time? I'm rather worried the signal around my office and home CMI. TIA.

Can use wallet balance to replace psim to esim or esim to esim. If got 1 for 1 top up earlier, cost $2.5 only. Not worth going down to service centre.

Yes, it mentioned in the faq that it will deduct from wallet balance.

S as in Singtel or Starhub?
Not sure what is the contract term, but if the portal says 8 June, then i would think you can sign up with them earlier BUT don't activate the sim card which will trigger the port in request before 8 June

As for eSIM porting, never done it before... so i am not sure of the process

physical sim delivery uses singpost, been quite sometime since i am with EIGHT so can't remember if there was delivery fee.
Maybe others can help chime in.

AFAIK, no.

Hence my first question, Singtel or starhub?
If it isn't good, then just port out to ZYM / Vivifi or Zero1. Porting from Green to Red enable you to have some kind of opportunity to be eligible for their promo if it is active.

I currently with Singtel. Thank you for the information. I am worried of signal issue. Hence have to prepare to port out in really CMI

Isn’t it physical SIM card better? e-SIM will disappear once change hp.
Depend on the phone and the Telco. You are allow to scan the esim QR for 3 to 5 times before you will need a new esim. Android phone allow you to transfer the esim to a new phone.

totally marketing gimmick, i am heavy user and I am on the go a lot also i only used the most 100GB++ per month. :p

this is actually the same as fibre broadband, while now all telcos/MVNOs also offer mini 2.5Gbps or up to 10Gbps of speed, but probably 90% and above will never need such speed, for normal users, even 200Mbps is way overkilled, and this explains the reason why they give such speed, becos normal users can never utilise it, if u multiple the no of subscribers vs the speed they promise, u know they do not even have enough bandwidth for all.

iphone actually supports direct eSIM swap between iPhones, it just depends if ur telco/MVNO supports it.

technically the new iPhone will 'absorb' the new eSIM seamlessly. and this is totally free.
even bolehland prepaid users can do it.

but lion city telcos/MVNOs are always behind this. even eSIM offering is way behind bolehland previously as well.

physical sim is good but eSIM is the latest trend. Apple has shifted to eSIM only for iPhones completely in US for since 2022, as a result of it, same model of iPhones in US actually has better battery life. I am sure sooner or later, apple will be managed to drive more countries into this.
