last time I port in from CL to Eight took more than a week, always give more than 1 week allowance, not every time will go your way as planned

Best IMO is to approach a service centre and hope staff on duty will help to check. Email has become next to useless already.

After my last experience with them, I've lost faith as well.

When I was with them last time it took them 5 working days to get back by email... I was asking them to validate if my region has signal issues because I keep getting full bar for 4G ( speed only at 30mbps cannot even load cnn.com news ) / 1-2 bar 5G ( 40 - 70 mbps ) when peak hours worst speed... need to wait till 12am midnight.... then got decent speed. Eight support told me to ensure my 5G is set as on and ensure standalone is switch on as well....the support may have misunderstood my question....

After swapping out to other telco the surfing experience feels a lot better for my region.

A few years back when zym had 1 for 1 deal iirc moi use it and it was the only one that moi had bad ping for mlbb - other singtel mvno like vivifi / zero1 no issue. So maybe speed test is not a good gauge.

Eight customer service is probably run by a bunch of noobs. I wanted to swap my physical Sim for an esim as the psim did support 5g. emailed them to request email delivery. Explained to them iim paralysed, heading to their service point is too challenging for me, they still write back to ask me go f down to service point 🙄hopelessCustomer service

Those who port from eight telecom and have the porting request rejected, you can either

1. Faster means - visit their service center. Take note that eight telecom backend can take up to 2 working days to resolved the issue.
2. Slower means - email to helpme@eight.com.sg. It takes 2 to 3 working days for them to reply and up to 2 working days for the backend to resolve the issue.

When ZYM process your porting request, you will receive a sms and email from them either at 9am or 3.30pm. If there is no sms or email confirmation, porting wasn't being processed. You can reach out to ZYM support via their Whatsapp between 10am to 10pm for assistance.

ZYM does not process porting over the weekend. Porting are triggered from Monday to Friday at 11pm.

Unfortunately, if they have no credible way to verify your identity over the phone or email then there's no way they can offer you the convenience at the expense of fraud risk or any other potential security risks.

If someone can just email your mobile no. and pictures of NRIC to the telco and they just agree to swap the sim type for them, then sim theft is just too easy for criminals.

Little update. I went to eight. Eight say no port in yesterday, the request just come in this morning. Eight say port in will likely go thru as no error now.

Now on the way to zym to bang table. Stay tune.
the screw-up is usually at Eight.
or is it? :s13:

Unfortunately this time is zym.
I saw the port out message from zym will proceed today. But only 2 out of 3. Dont know which is which.. Lol
Are you trying to port from Zym to Eight, or Eight to Zym? :s11:

Problem normally lies with the donor telco if there's nothing pending for your line, unless you try to port to a plan that you're not qualified for.

A few weeks ago, my number was flagged for porting out by Eight, and Zym tried five times to port it without success. The email responses that I got said there was no blockage, but the porting still did not go through. This is after a visit to a service centre in Eight's Pasir Ris interchange service centre, and also a visit to Zym's HQ, both on same Friday.

Nothing happened over the weekend.

on Monday, I went to the Clementi service centre, a Malay lady, took over the case, checked with her backend team, and found that my number had been earmarked for porting. She asked them to remove the flag, and after that, Zym was able to port my number successfully on Tuesday around 11pm.

earmarked means blocked from porting?? If so how can they do that, I thought there's no string attached / no contract type of plan. Did you ask why?
