If the volume of block user high can log complain to IMDA to check on them liao this is unethical way of doing business for no string attached plan. The customer did not breach any of their clauses... why should customer get affected... moreover... some mobile are tied to singpass, paylah, banks and etc .... this kind of game not funny if they cannot get reliable service.

If your service cannot make a customer happy then you should expect people to move out... I mean for those who have better speed can stay as their area probably better with eight or starhub network.

My first port-out failed after 3 working days.
As its after day 30 after first failed port-out, I renewed my plan and submitted another port-out. Again it failed.
Emailed Eight and got reply after 5 working days that my previous port-outs failed as my line was inactive. Asked me to submit another port-out. Submitted third port-out the same day, and porting started at 11pm the same day.
I think they need to approve port-out manually in their system backend.

This rings a bell.
Zym replied my email saying Eight's failure port-out message was due to my line was inactive, but my line was VERY active to port-out

Best IMO is to approach a service centre and hope staff on duty will help to check. Email has become next to useless already.

After my last experience with them, I've lost faith as well.
The last time I emailed them, no response till I went down to service centre 2 months later to sort out port-in issue. :s22:

I've shared what happened few months back when I wanted to port a line out.

Lost count of emails with no reply or unrelated one/s. Then I visited Punggol and was put on a video call, with "will forward to backend and reply in a couple of days" and of course, no sound no picture. The staff there cannot do anything other than set up those video calls. Don't bother going there anymore.

Until I visited Clementi and was fortunate that the knowledgeable and helpful friendly kakak was there to help me check with them. Email from her came as promised that it'd be solved.

By the time the port over finally happened, I already had my email to IMDA drafted out.

Then... string of silly email "replies" started pouring in for those numerous ones I sent earlier.

I've moved all my important numbers out already.

Like I've said, I feel the original bunch of staff are all gone already. Leftover bunch of (mostly) CMI manning the emails.

The key issue is that IMDA take no action against Eight and StarHub to operate this way.

When compared with the recent GovTech case, it highlights concerns about the quality and effectiveness of IMDA role.
IMDA appears to be waiting for backfire instead of taking decisive enforcement steps.

In this is other countries, the outcome would be ...

Yeah, looks to be the case. But I had good experience with Lucky Plaza service center, visited and got it resolved immediately.
As always, good people will leave if management is bad and seems like that's likely the case for Eight too.

Our IMDA also useless, since our laws & regulations regarding these sector is a joke.

Yup, went to Lucky Plaza to collect SIM card.

Kakak was training new staff, then another staff helping to attend those waiting in the queue.

Good initiative. (y)
