it's ok la, they just wont get my business lor

read a bit, retail center also like no do porting service one.
Retails do port in, pay $8, give sim . Back end overwhelmed & unstable, she (retailer) gave the 'it's better you come back in Aug' look. So if it's yr main and only line, come back in Aug.

I believe a few of us did.

I ported out 1 number (to Maxx) that I wanted to keep just to port in another number (from Simba) that I really like, the other day. Everything went smoothly.

Update : both mobile data and voice working.

From what I observed. When the port-in started. Mobile data will be ported over 1st. 12 hrs later (Coz I remember the port-in started after 11pm on 23 Jul). My voice successfully port over after 11am on 24 Jul.

23 Jul : Initiated online port-in on 23 Jul afternoon and selected eSIM.
24 Jul : mid night data port-in successful but voice not working. Still displaying the temporary number instead of my port-in number.

Yes. All done physically at the shop. Nothing done by myself online.

The Ubi one.. the boss says he is there on Sat and Sun. I did it on Sat evening.

Mine done on Sat.

Thinking of doing the porting this coming Sun. The opening hours are Mon to Fri, 11am to 7pm, but you went on Sat and managed to port over without any issues. Hopefully they won't tell me to go back on a Mon lol.

Is the shop a main Eight service centre or it is shared?

I think it's 1 of the main one listed. Better go physically, the boss will check a few things just to be sure. I feel it's safer.

I can also receive SMS successfully without any issue.

I already have 2 sim with eight.. Try port in my main line to $8 plan but it say contact customer server. Their customer service seems not the best here.

Can I goto retailer to get it ported to one of my free Sim(i read this is somewhere) ?

Write in to terminate one of your free SIM and only after it's processed then you can port in your line.

still no signs of porting since sunday. it's been 4 days. what is eight doing?
I am also interested to port to Eight, but wait all Guinea pigs test their porting system during trial period first

At my hse still experience the drop connection to 3G sometimes, I thought can see what happen after 31st July. But according to news Starhub will continue 3G service for a few mths more

Have you gone down to service centre?
not yet. all so far for me. My eight temporary number is active, same goes to my current line on simba.

But anyway, tried eight for 2 days (using the paid $8 plan), going to work and home. On the MRT (EWl and NEL), it is way more worst than Simba. Actually, i kind of regret initiate the port from Simba. Eight network just doesn't work well for me.

If eight replies my email, i might ask them to cancel the port, Then nearing end of the month, i'll terminate eight.

what telco are you currently on that experience dropping to 3G. Singtel starhub or M1? If your current telco is starhub or it's mvnos, it's likely same experience.

then i suggest you not to port to eight. My experience with eight so far for a week (on $8/plan), it's super slow and laggy on MRT, EWL NEL. I don't experience as much laggings as compared to Simba.

I don't see it going to improve future, Singtel Starhub M1 are all focusing on making 5G better, and transiting people using 3G to 4G, will make 4G even more congested.

Starhub will close it's 3G only from November, once shut down, there won't be any fall back to 3G. So it's time they start to move people to 5G.

Yes I'm planning to go there this Sun. Just worried that they won't entertain customers during the weekend.

Also prefer to do it in person as it is less likely to have any issues.
