I sent the email to cancel 1 $0 line yesterday afternoon, sent them another email with all the details and photo of sim card, and it was done within 2hr.
I wish I was in your shoes. Last night I sent another email request (my 3rd) to terminate my $0 sim, but no reply as of 2250hrs.

Yes I'm planning to go there this Sun. Just worried that they won't entertain customers during the weekend.

Also prefer to do it in person as it is less likely to have any issues.
Boss is friendly one don't worry

Don't expect instant reply to email as they can take about 2 days. Remember now last week for $0 already with so many people going last minute. Best is still physically at service centres IMO.

🚨 Warning: Poor Service from Eight Telecom 🚨

I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with the service from Eight Telecom. Here's my experience:

1. Port-In Issue:

  • I requested to port my number from GOMO to Eight Telecom on 14 July 2024.
  • My phone shows the Eight signal, but I cannot receive calls, SMS, or use mobile data.
2. Lack of Response:

  • I immediately contacted Eight Telecom and received an email saying they would expedite the issue to their tech team. This was on Monday morning.
  • Since then, I have sent multiple follow-up emails daily and even provided all necessary information:
    • Name as per NRIC: xxxx
    • IC Number: xxxx
    • Date of Port-In Request: 14 July 2024
    • Port-In Request Location: Online
    • Online Option Chosen: eSIM
    • Other Phone Number for contacting: xxxx
3. Visit to Service Centre:

  • I went to their service centre at Lucky Plaza on Saturday, but the staff said they couldn't help because I chose to port in online. They mentioned they use different software and aren't trained for online port-ins, which I found quite amusing and unprofessional.
4. Continued Inconvenience:

  • It has now been several days, and I still have no access to my mobile number, calls, SMS, or mobile data. This is causing severe inconvenience and affecting my daily life and work.
5. No Communication:

  • Despite their promise to expedite my issue, I have received no updates or solutions. My emails go unanswered, and the issue remains unresolved.
I was considering porting another number to Eight Telecom, but given this unresolved issue and lack of response, I have lost all confidence in their service. If this problem is not resolved soon, I will have to port out my current number.

I am sharing this experience to warn others about the poor service and lack of customer support from Eight Telecom. Please think twice before switching to their service.

Have you tried contacting them through all other means?
Weird that service centre cannot assist, and no further assistance rendered to escalate this.

Officially, the only way to reach them is via email. They also responded to comments on their Facebook posts initially, but it seems they have stopped replying for the past few days.

well overall i stil find that eight is should continue on a trial for a good 6 mths instead of allowing ppl to start porting here and there. or maybe allow a selected a grp of ppl to trial on porting to iron out any issues which could inccur before really allowing all the ppl to start porting.

Hmmm… my free 88 day's eSIM connected to 5G today at my house for a while before reverting back to 4G. However speed test for both 4g and 5G seems like no difference.

starhub at my place not very good

Not at all.. Zym had been v good to me for the past year & I starting to miss the 5G logo on my phone. I just wanted to see if 8 is good enough for me with a little bit of savings, plus their generous roaming data offered is sweet..
ZYM got 5G? i tot only for first 3 months? Agree on your point that eight offer generous amount of roaming data.

i think the lucky plaza staff were being lazy. they sre able to assist those who chose porting in online, as i had chose the wrong portin telco when i register online.

so i signed up 2 eight line on monday night, and wanted to port in 2 zym line. while selecting the telco, i accidentally chose m1 maxx for both zym lines. (i didnt know it initially, until the Ubi service centre boss told me much later)

of the 2 eight lines, 1 was esim, 2nd was sim card, which was delivered by postal

so when i activate the esim, i was sent 2 sms, 1st telling me that the activation was successful, and 2nd portin in was not successful.

immediately, i wrote an email to the useless eight on the same monday night, but did not receive any response. then on the Thursdsy, i went down to Ubi service centre, the nice boss said he will find out from the backend on my issue, getting my details, unsuccessful msg, zym billing date and etc. after giving the detail, he told me he had sent it to the backend for them to check.

30 mins, later, he messaged me and told me i had selected the m1 maxx instead of zym. so he asked for account details of the zym, which i screenshot and sent it to him, and he helped me send it to the backend.

then the best part is the 2nd eight line which was still delivering through postal, i realized that i had selected the wrong portIn telco as well. he told me wait until i receive and activiate it.

so on friday night, i received the sim and activate it. true enough i received the message saying the portin was not successful. i then whatsapped the boss, and he replied me on Saturday morning, saying the backend were not working on weekend. so on monday morning, i reminded the boss on the same, and he told me he had submitted to the backend successfully.

and by tuesday night, my portIn for the 2nd line was completed.

and on tuesday, 8 days after i sent out the email to useless eight, i received the reply from them, asking for my details. practically unresponsive.

my experiecdn with the Ubi service centre was good!
