How's Zero1? have 5G? network connection stable?

have 5G, but i only sign up for 4G plan (w/ free 5G for 3 mths).
Connection good.
even after finish the data, the "unlimited part" speed is quite usable even for youtube.
have 2 lines signed up for basic 6GB, but end up always using 20+ GB every month :X

But now Eight beats Zero1 ... esp the roaming data. They need to come out with new plan

Hi all

I have two questions if any bros/sis can help:

1) Signing up at the roadshow is the same as signing up at the retailer right? As there will be one on Sunday near to my home.

2) I need to port in my old number. So if i get the free 88 days plan, I need to specify when I sign up to change to $8 upon expiry and give my credit card details or how does it work?

just IC will do. i went down yesterday to port in.
if you already have 2 eight mobile sim card, then one need to be cancelled before you can port in. takes about an hour to get it cancelled from request timing.

Can port in immediately at the service centre after you cancel one of the Eight lines?

Not so troublesome lah. Just need to spend 5 minutes to email them the required details will do.

check out their website on how to get it done, else scroll through this thread as there’re many people that have posted the requirements

Someone mentioned here earlier that termination takes about an hour.

Even if the termination is done at the service centre?

Terminate the line there and also do the port in straightaway. Got to wait an hour then able to port in?

After successful sign up, I did not receive any SMS or email. Now the SIM card arrives, the instruction is :
1. visit website link
2. enter no.
3. scan bar code on SIM card.
I will be stuck on step 2. But I have yet to activate as I prefer to activate later. But thank you for the info. Guess if no choice, then email Eight for assistance. 😀
Your case is rather unusual, you will also need the activation code which is either in the SMS or email.

I skipped no.3, as I have entered the number manually.
Well, since you do not have SMS or email, then need to contact Eight to seek help.

I am thinking to port over from Simba $10 plan to EIGHT $8 plan. One of the upside is because EIGHT has more sms which for work reasons I still need to use.
Anyone has used simba and using EIGHT now? Can compare how is the network coverage from your usage experience?

just ported over from Simba to eight yesterday. Before porting, i was trying out eight using trial, it wasn't as good. After porting, i would say my experience is same with on simba. Not necessarily better than simba. About same.

But anyway, simba $12/mth 200GB plan has more sms at 100 sms . you can consider it if you are using more sms. Somemore, Simba to Simba sms is free (if i'm not wrong). Hence, if the person you are sending sms to during work use simba, then it's great

Hi all, 2 queries here, will appreciate any thought, comments, pointers etc...

  1. Which date (of this month) should I initiate the port-in? So that the Eight plan is aligned to every calendar month? I receive the physical SIM Eight card today i.e. 26/7/2024.
  2. The letter mentioned to input a temporary mobile number? Where do I see this temporary number? Is it the number on the SIM card itself? Or...?

Thanks in advance!
According to the viewers here, you should receive SMS or email upon successful sign up or port in application, the mobile no. is contained there. You may check your spam mail too.
