Sharing my "half-baked" porting experience.
Went to Ubi Service Centre to do a eSIM to eSIM porting on 26/7 (Fri).
Received the termination email from existing telco and line went dead the same night.
Tested the Eight line next morning, no problem receiving OTP and SMS to my ported number, but unable to send SMS, no voice and data services at all although line was connected and showing 4G.
Went to Ubi Service Centre again on 30/7 to seek help. All services of the Eight line up and running 1 hour later (have never received the porting succesful confirmation SMS at all though).
Kudos to the Ubi SC guy.
Wondering if porting to eSIM still have glitch with their backend, especially over weekend.
thanks for sharing, so it working for you now?

Same experience.

Only Data port over 1st. After around 12 hr later voice den successfully port over.

Dont think is due to eSIM configuration

Correct!
I also bind my cc to the a/c too even though I did top up to the main balance, just in case I forget to top up.

8 will deduct from main balance first, if insufficient fund, then will deduct from cc
That's what I did too.

I check Lazada also have seller offer EIGHT TOP up with 4% off.
Eg.. pay $7.70 for $8 TOP up

I just visited the Ubi Service Center to transfer my two numbers from redONE because redONE's billing cycle starts on the 1st of every month.
I'm curious, will I receive an SMS or email notification on my existing numbers confirming that the port-out request has been initiated?

Sharing my experience.

Previously gotten 2x free 88 days SIM at one of their "roadshows". Went down to the Ubi "Service Center" yesterday to cancel one of them. Needed to wait while their backend operations processed the cancellation, so I went and had my lunch and buy toto.

After lunch, came back to the "service center" to sign up a new line + port over my existing number from Simba. Paid $8 cash on the spot.

Received email from Simba at about 11pm last night saying that my line was terminated. Took out my Simba SIM and inserted the new Eight SIM. Received SMS saying that the line is successfully activated, but still on the temporary number.

Received SMS from Eight at about 12:15am last night saying that my port in request was successful.

Overall, I'd say that the process was pretty straightforward. But the app certainly needs polishing. Having to request for OTP every time to log in is excessive.

It's too near, my simba also 1st Aug, but simba will deduct 5 days before the due date for seamless data...that's why I terminate and forgo the $5 senior plan but they email me back ask me to use it till 29th Aug than they terminate.

Yours are consider smooth.

Mine was totally no service (except receiving SMS) for few days since porting to Eight, until after getting the help from the Ubi SC guy (who told me porting to eSIM might face glitch sometimes).

The Ubi outlet is much helpful unlike Lucky Plaza.

Lucky Plaza cannot port to $0 plan. They will tell you it's not doable etc. Advise customers to port in to paid plan to risk losing you number or no support etc. Top up at their branch so that your money doesn't goes missing. Playing the fear tactics
