If I opt for eSIM and activate tonight, anyone has experience when the porting from Zym will be completed?

tIA
Mine is same day port over...i activate sim around 5pm....around 11pm Zym lose connection and by 2am the next day the number displayed on my eight sim is the one I ported over... and manage to receive SMS OTP as well. However, I did not receive any SMS from eight on successful port over (even though almost 2 weeks already).

What can I say...

If your number is so important to you, don't jump into the first MVNO offer you see.

At the very least, Eight offers free 88-day trial SIM without obligation, though latest offer is ending this month and I hope they don't offer some more until they've ironed out all those problems due to overwhelming response.

Try it to know if it meets all your needs and expectations first. Go check out their FAQ. Lots of useful information there.

There are quite a number of MVNOs, don't expect one to have everything out there. Otherwise MNOs eat grass...:crazy:

Didn't really stay up to monitor at 12am, but checking the phone after waking up in the morning, all services terminated except receiving SMS .

I've just emailed them 10 minutes ago to terminate the line and the next minute received their termination confirmation email. Very fast.
Really need to call them to say you want to terminate? can just keep it for some time just in case later you change your mind and want to switch over to them and use?

There's no call support. To terminate before the 60 days grace period (which only allows receiving SMS), you either have to email them (refer post #1726) or do it at their service centre,

Keeping the line, either upgrade to their $8/$18 plan or it will terminate by itself after the 60 days grace period. If want to port your no., you have to sign up a new line. No porting option for existing eight line.

  • How do I switch/port in to eight?
    • Switch to eight and keep your existing number!
    • Select ‘Port-in’ during the sign-up. You can sign up online or head down to eight retailers to sign up.
    • Here is a simple guide to port in here!

Eight needs to give me free lifetime line. $8/month one is enough, I not greedy. :s13:

  • What happens if I do not renew my plan?
    • If you miss the date to renew your plan, you can renew it the next day. Simply do it on eight account or visit our retailers/ service centre.
    • At your plan expiry, the plan will go into a grace period of 60 days. During which you can receive SMS and notification to recharge. After 60 days, you will continue to receive SMS, however all unused wallet credit will be forfeited.

$ in wallet should be safe. I've nearly $100 in my $0 plan, still waiting to turn on Auto-Recharge when I upgrade the plan.

Porting process from Vivifi to Eight is quite fuss-free.

Activated SIM on 28/08 morning;
Vivifi connection disconnected on 28/08 late evening around 11pm;
Eight sent SMS informing successful port-in on 29/08 12.30am
Port in to $0 or $8 plan?
