I've a Changi Mobile number that I want to port over to Eight, the billing cycle is 10/10 to 9/11 which I've paid the bill for. So is it safe to apply via Eight website on 5/11 to port over to avoid paying another month?

My opinion is don't take such a risk. My CMLink mobile line billing was based on calendar month, but I forfeited the balance usage.

Sharing my port in process to Eight.

Saturday noon sign up eSIM with port in >> Registered using Singpass / MyInfo >> Saturday 11PM CMLink terminated >> Sunday 10AM number port in successfully >> Sunday 11AM SMS OTP normal.

When I switched on my phone at around 9AM, the line was still listed as the temporary number, and between 10AM and 11AM, I was unable to receive OPT from the financial institutions I have business with.

Port in request it is always advisable to have at least 3-5 days lead time before your next billing cycle.

nowadays with so many new offerings and price wars, many people r porting here and there. and also more errors occuring as a result.

in the past when porting is not so high, porting can happen 1 or 2 days after collecting the sim card.

While the VoWiFi symbol appears on the phone, but I am unable to make calls in that mode. I need to switch on the mobile data for me to make calls. That means, VoWiFi is not work for eight. What a disappointment.

Another old phone of mine only shows the VoLTE symbol against eight sim, even after enabling WiFi.
Now the VoWiFi is totally gone only VoLTE functions.

You are never screwed when it comes to billing, because you'll never get a bill shock. If you run out of minutes for a certain category, you'll just simply be unable to make / receive any more calls, depending on what the category is. If you run out of data, your data will simply be cut off.

Remember, no bill shock.
