Did you have to go through the activation process ?
I am wondering since you pick up at store, would they have activated it there when you pick up.

Although according to FAQ :
If you sign up online: You can receive and activate your SIM cards via postal mail or collection at eight retailers.
I suspect the eight retailers have activated on behalf during collection in store.

so in summary: the pSIM card can be activated either
- By scanning the QR code when we received the pSIM
- By eight retailer when we opt to collected from in store

In case anyone asking in this thread. He/she can know when reading this post

Thanks a lot !

A related query, if apply online and opt for esim, activation is when ?
When you scan the esim QR code ?

Since a data link with eight server is required to successfully install the esim.
I think upon scanning the QR code into your phone, it will be activated. (This is how eight know you have initial and kick start the porting process)

which mean it will be the start of the billing cycle

Do correct if I misinterpreted as I am using pSIM, not eSIM but assume both is the same logic

That is what I suspect, but hoping to get a confirmation as I am trying to delay the activation.

I received this too. I didn't do anything, it still auto-deduct from credit card. Unless you remove the auto-deduct, then I think it will not work.

It is recommended to ask the staff to activate for you if you plan to collect at SIM Pick up Points.

for those shopee lazada sellers, i see there are 2 different plans, Main Balance and Top Up.

both can recharge the $8 plan and use as per normal?

only difference is the way they display the "recharge date"?

Correct me if I'm wrong

Main Balance = add $8 to wallet, then the day after expiry, if your eight account already activated "Auto-Recharge", your eight plan will be renewed for the next 30 days

Top Up (to buy on the last day of expiry) = your eight plan will be auto renewed for the next 30 days

Eight and Giga are both using StarHub network, so there won't be much difference.
