No I didn’t do any speed tests, sorry…

but I suspect they throttled after I downloaded about 3GB worth of data (I was doing software update for MacOS). coz after software update I was downloading the whole of my Documents folder in iCloud to an external HD (about 1.6GB), then I noticed the copying estimated time to complete is about 1 hour (external HD uses usb c connection). And download speed did drop significantly during that period when I was downloading from iCloud.

the speed when downloading the software update was alright

Maybe tomorrow morning if I remember, I will do a speed test—coz I think if they throttle, it’s on a daily limit basis?

hmm, strange, I dont have throttle when I use my eight spare line (phone hotspot) and download youtube videos

Does anyone know how to login to MyAccount for data only SIM card?

The MyAccount login on their website only accepts 8 digit mobile number. The number for data only plan is 13 digits.

or is it have to use their android app?

They can detect you are using 5G router?

not sure, cos I hotspot to my desktop and download youtube videos. Could be those youtube video downloader website throttle the speed (overseas server)

I just check - 1.2 MB/s equivalent to 10mbps

when people do speedtest and achieve 100+ mbps, the line is testing Spore server

Saw this on their FB page. Key in the 13 digits. Click Get OTP. OTP will be sent to your registered email. Key in the OTP to login. Hope this helps.

I just tried speedtest.com.sg for the eight data plan:

download 70Mbps
upload 0.6Mbps

the strange thing is that when I try to refresh this forum… it always hangs there then takes a very long time to reload

Hmm… then you better not port in. If by post takes at least one week, then some people report not receiving within 1 week also.

so you better collect from retailer

I was assuming you going to activate this week

  • You can let the mobile plan run its current cycle and not reload
  • Head over to our service centre for termination, please bring along your NRIC that was used for the registration of the number
  • You can write in to helpme@eight.com.sgwith the below details as part of user verification. Do note that this action will be irreversible.
    • Name as per NRIC:
    • Last 4 digits of NRIC:
    • Your eight number:
    • Your date of birth:
    • Photo of the back of your SIM card/Screenshot of your “myAccount” login
