Any idea if you make local calls while overseas, it deducts from IDD allowance? Example making calls while in Canada to local Canadian numbers.

Consider as IDD because network is tunneled back to singapore to call overseas (canada in this case).

Another scenario is 2 Singaporeans roaming in Canada, and one call the other (both sg numbers for e.g.), this also considered idd.

But in this case, the 2nd guy who picked up the call will incur idd cost, while the local Canadian number who picked up the call is free.

My reply was in general of how idd is charged/used.

But I can say with confidence, the 288/388 mins talktime only applies for VoLTE calls.

Why? VoLTE calls are billed the same as data between telcos, while they are converted and billed as minutes to us. If I'm not wrong, 1 min of volte call is using around 300kb to 1mb of data.

There is no way Eight can afford to pay voice(3g) rates to another operator when we only pay them $8 a month. Data rates on the other hand... dirt cheap

Actually it's very clear in FAQ already what, calls made from supported overseas countries to SG/from SG to supported countries are all under IDD call. Most of us are renewing the plan based on top up account basis, won't get bill shock also. I don't think we can call to/from non supported roaming overseas countries as well.

Actually it's very clear in FAQ already what, calls made from supported overseas countries to SG/from SG to supported countries are all under IDD call. Based on the CIS, it seems like
5) Receiving calls from overseas (non roaming country) numbers: free if under IDD supported destinations
6) Receiving calls from Singapore numbers: free if under IDD supported destinations

but unconfirmed if
3) Calling Singapore numbers: free (in any overseas country) or free if under IDD supported destinations

Anyway I have sent an email to eight to inquiry about all the scenarios, so will update here if they reply.

• 228GB Local data, 88 SMS, 588 Local mins, 288 IDD mins, 10GB Roaming data APAC, 2GB International Roaming data International, Free Caller ID, Free local incoming mins and SMS, 288 VoLTE incoming minutes, 288 VoLTE outgoing mins to home country (Singapore), 288 VoLTE outgoing mins to local country (the country that you roam)
• The service will stop once the entitlement is used up. The entitlement will be refreshed during the next renewal cycle, or upgrade the plan to get a new entitlement immediately

is your hp on the supported list for both Maxis and U Mobile?

i had both operators local sim cards and they are working fine with VOLTE. Even my Simba roaming here also gets VOLTE. but eight roaming can't. strange loh

I'm in Malaysia (JB) and roam on Maxis or UMobile. However, I cannot get VOLTE on both operators, and I can't make any voice calls. Has anyone encountered the same issues?

Were u able to volte when in Singapore, using the same equipments?

My experience was - volte in sg ok
But in msia with any of their partner though can get volte but outward calls to sg fail and the caller hears the msia provider message that outward calling is barred.

just to rule out one cause, check on maxis and u mobile sites, whether your phone(s) are supported.
i dunno your phone models, so i can't check.
