Does roaming covers calls and SMS?

Our plans do include 288mins roaming calls back to Singapore and at the destination you roam at! Learn more here, simply refer to the column “Network Operator (VOLTE Calls)”. E.g. Looking at Malaysia, MAXIS is available under VOLTE Calls and you would be able to call home under this operator.

I believe Eight use volte oversea roaming to enable voice call back Singapore too. Similar to Simba.
IMHO.
Thanks. I m in MY testing. In KL now, Got issue with Maxis for VoLTE. Switched to U Mobile ok.

must be, considering the eSIM swap also just like SIMBA because must go down to the store to get new QR code, cannot do online 😔
Difference is eight will email you the QR code for free, Simba charges $5

They don't have any hotline number. For now, email is the only way. Leaving message on their FB page, sometimes they respond, most of the time unanswered. 😑

If urgent, go to their service centres.

Hi all, physical sim card deliver to mail box time frame 5 to 7 working days is accurate or usually shorter? Thanks
In my case, 5 working days. It could be shorter or longer. 5-7 working days is quite accurate. (Depends on how efficient the SingPost mail delivery service is).

Anyone know how to make a IDD call to a different country, apart from the supported countries list ? Or there is no way to do it?

So seriously, you are asking if you can make an IDD call to a country that is not in Eight's official list of supported destinations?

Really?

What do you think is the answer, my friend?

Thanks for reply.
For me it was four working days, but do bear in mind that it is obviously the Christmas season, so obviously the most busy time of the year for all last mile delivery companies, Singpost included. That's why they have updated their FAQ to say 5 - 7 working days; previously it was 3 - 5 working days.

After CNY, it may change back to 3 - 5 working days, but nobody knows for sure, as Singpost continues to cut costs and they are now lagging behind Ninjavan / J&T / SPX etc. They are only kept alive by their commercial customers.

Think about your parcels that you bought from Lazada or Shopee; which is the most common delivery partner? Is it Singpost?

You have your answer there. Probably more than you wanted to know, but lifelong learning, right?

Actually if you think about it, 5 - 7 working days for snail mail delivery of the physical SIM card from Eight for such a tiny island like SG is just terrible.

My guess is Eight will take 1 - 2 working days to ship out, but for Singpost to then take 3 - 5 working days for delivery of such a small "letter" item in a standard envelope size is an absolute disgrace. Just in comparison to all other local delivery of items ordered from Lazada or Shopee, those are much larger parcels, and they take 2 - 3 working days maximum for local delivery.

In the UK I regularly order items sent by Royal Mail 2nd class in a regular sized envelope delivered from hundreds of miles away, it takes maximum three working days, often just two working days. And UK is so much bigger than SG.

That's Singpost for you.

Of course it is quite possible that it is Eight taking a long time to ship out the item, but that wouldn't really make sense because obviously they would want you to receive the SIM card as quickly as possible so that you would activate it earlier and start using it earlier, thus generating more revenue.

But then again, what do I know.

Hahahaha.. Thanks for the reply. Well I guessed the answer but I was hoping that eight have something similar to simba (top up the main balance and make IDD calls)

But yeah. I got the point. Currently on Eight but occasionally I have to make some calls outside of the supported destinations..

You could suggest this as a new feature request to them, assuming they're not already working on it! After all they have just released four different zones for roaming; they may also release four different zones for outgoing IDD calls with different price points for each zone.

Don't hold your breath though, as I don't work for Eight. Believe it or not.

Agreed with you. Small red dot 5-7 days delivery is horrible. Parcel ordered from Lazada PRC seller reached SG at this time frame already. Thanks

You're exactly right. Some Lazada and Shopee sellers even promise five working days delivery sent from PRC. And they are not necessarily expensive items!

Maybe Eight should set up shop in PRC land and have their physical SIM cards sent from there; would receive them faster than local SG delivery. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Primary suspect is phone issue
