Anyone experience some times, unable to hear the caller on phone call or whatsapp call? Is it due to reception of Eight?

based on person experience, most likely poor reception on the part of Eight . for the past few months, unable to hold whatsapp or teams call around Raffles Place, finally ported to zero1 last week and no longer have the issue

Signed up with Right an hour ago selecting eSim. Received 2 system generated emails from Eight, stating
- Woohoo! You have successfully activated your line with us
- This is a confirmation of your payment and your order is confirmed

Any idea when I can expect to receive the email containing the eSim qr code?
Thought it is immediate

Sometimes slight delay but an hour sounds a bit too much.

Eight list of country with roaming data is long, only behind Simba, so far never encounter a situation where I don't get roaming data. But if you have VoWifi turned on, as long as you have wifi or another sim with working data, you get backup calling which will also receive SMS.

that is actually the primary use case for Wifi Calling for me.

SMS for home network works without VoLTE, I would suspect that if you don't have roaming data, then likely you would be facing a roam failure, and in that case, a discussion about receiving SMS is moot.
Yes, all telcos should honestly support WIFI-Calling, so much more convenient and seamless experience whether locally or overseas.

Any idea if there's an effective way that I can check with them ?

Am I correct to assume that I should receive an email with an actual QR code?

Edit:
Had wrote an email to helpme@eight.com.sg
Hopefully will get it resolved.
From experience shouldn't be that long to receive the eSIM.

The pain about eight is CS, hard to get hold of anyone.
Email support is slow too.... but within 2/3 business days will get response.
But for critical issues, no immediate channels available IIRC unless one heads down to their SC.

Other than email, can head down to one of their service centres to check for you and probably also generate another eSIM QR code, it's FOC.

Do you have an order number...I need to check coz I can't remember what they'll need other than NRIC. If already processed with mobile number, should just need NRIC.

No, I've eSIM in iPad as well, service centre has also reminded me that I can't access the account from an iPad.

Unlike Simba, before they started their data-only plan, I'd mobile line in iPad accessible with email address login.

I'm not willing to change my Eight line to data-only plan coz it just doesn't make sense to pay the same price. This way, I can also switch the line to a phone for normal usage.

Unlike Simba again, mobile line $10, data-only plan $5.

Eight is $8 and $8 no matter mobile or data-only line.

Only way is to do manual management, and perhaps find a top-up retailer who's willing to help advise latest balance.

Yes, those that need OTP to login is an annoyance which can't be used in iPads. :s22:
