I’m on the Triple Eight plan — will 5G start immediately, or only from my next renewal?

Great news — Beginning 16 October 2025, your 5G access will activate automatically — as long as you’re on one of our 5G-eligible plans, using a 5G-capable device, and located in 5G coverage.

You might have to wait till 16 Oct

Oh, so announced on 8 Oct but got to wait another 8 days to get.

OK, fatt fatt!

Hope they don't make those who switched today wait another 8 days after immediate activation/charge...

If you renew today, you'll get the 5G immediately.

For those on Triple Eight Plan and not due for renewal yet, the 5G will kick in automatically on 16th October.

Or you can just click renew today to get the 5G.

After seeing these posts about speed, I tested my phone using both Eight 4G and Cuniq 4G. Eight speed test is much slower than Cuniq. Both are on Starhub network.

Maxx cannot do voice call overseas. And cannot receive SMS outside of those included roaming countries. That's a red flag
To make it worse, wifi calling for Maxx doesn't work out of Singapore, so that option is out as well.

Anyone got speed test of eight 5G SA that is above 500Mbps ?
If really under 500Mbps then the value is pretty low as those speed are below Maxx.
