My eight 4g speeds at home not affected though. Maybe they only reduced QCI

I’m on the Triple Eight plan — will 5G start immediately, or only from my next renewal?

Great news — Beginning 16 October 2025, your 5G access will activate automatically — as long as you’re on one of our 5G-eligible plans, using a 5G-capable device, and located in 5G coverage.

You might have to wait till 16 Oct
Great thanks for sharing, otherwise i will still be fiddling with my network settings as cannot see 5G Lol.

eight 5G punched a little harder
Later ppl complain different phone! ;)

Nice speeds, i can't get those speeds no matter how hard i tried lol.

Stretch from bishan towards khatib for some reason just refused to go up to 5g unless i toggle aeroplane mode on off. Didn't had that problem with the M1 Maxx line.

M1 and SH shares the same 5G networks, equally I believe. So it is kinda pointless to compare them. Should compare with ST. Simba confirm no fight lah.
Yes. Both Maxx and Starhub shares the same 5G networks. There is literally no difference. There is only 2 5G networks in Singapore, Singtel and Antina.

The difference comes when you are out of 5G SA coverage and drops to 4G or 5G NSA. Maxx still have 5G NSA, not sure for eight if they have NSA. The experience will be different for 5G NSA.

I still feel they should offer 5G SA for the $11.80 plan to really stay competitive.

Probably still testing testing like back in August. :look:
Someone in FB asked them about 5G for the lower plans, and they replied "our 5G plans start from $14.80 and above." Or something to the effect.

I. Want. To. See. How. Long. Before. Patterns. Change. Again. :s22:

mine also affected

Same location but one was on 24 September speed 100+
just now tested speed just 10+

Maybe using tactics to get people to switch over to more expensive 5G plans.

Same tactic used by singtel minions to disable 5G NSA from those who enjoyed over 1 year of "free" 5G
