Got a very good eight 4G speed this morning in Jurong Point. The speed in Jurong Central Park is also pretty good.

Poco X6 Pro
eight S$8 plan
Jurong Point JP2 Level 1, beside the travelator to B1

This is my best 4G LTE speed this year among the three plans I have.
Singtel SIM Only S$15.28 plan (5G)
M1 Maxx S$10 plan (5G)
eight S$8 plan (4G).

Okay, beating the above records in JP2 B1, in front of Lego, then M1 Shop, and lastly Singtel Shop.

My best 4G Speed records, beating my earlier Singtel records a few years ago.

Getting a new phone for an elderly relative. They currently have eSIM on the old phone and will need to move the eSIM to the new phone (both iPhones). I thought can just email eight but it seems like need to go to service center.

If need to go service center, can I go on her behalf to get the QR code since she has mobility issues? Any form I need to fill up prior to show that she gave me permission to transact on her behalf?
I could be wrong, but I don't think Eight has an authorisation form online for collection on behalf...

Yes, need to visit service centre for new eSIM too.

Can write to helpme@eight.com.sg to seek their advice.

they overload the network. last time still smooth and okay. now very slow and long buffering
hmm, what is overload the network? thought network connectivity is dependant on location (i.e. near to cell towers or repeaters)?

So either Starhub is not installing enough cell towers or they are not maximising the network strength in the cell towers

Noice! Btw which provider r u using now?
I've my Simba Xmas2026 main line mainly for roaming. Still working to see eventually either Maxx or Eight 5G for backup. Right now Eight 5G.

Zero1 will be 3rd consideration coz I don't really have smooth connection with Singtel SIM-only. One backup might use my existing $15 line, but will then have a 3rd line for double backup. See how Eight/Maxx go in Q1'26.
