I got 3 line, 2 under ZYM and 1 under Eight(kid) 4G.
ZYM dropped my 1st line(Wife) 5G(NSA) to 4G only last month so i transfer to 5G Eight.
Then I started getting complain in MRT from wife. I brush them off
Then ZYM dropped my 5G(SA) to 4G (4g plan) end of last month. So i moved to 5G Eight.

We go out last weekday, it struck me all 3 Eight struggle in MRT. Clementi to JE nothing load on 5G and 4G. The Tiong Bhru to City Hall FB lag so bad. Even my music streaming dead(never have this with ZYM).
For same price 10.10, i going back to ZYM. when my plan nearing expiry.

in fact at Boonlay. ZYM 4G speed test is faster than Eight 5G on same device.
Could it be your phone issues?

I am on $8 4G with 2x xm phone

Weekdays I always travelled during peak hrs evening abt 530-630pm between clementi & Jurong, enjoying my data connection, ig stories, watch tiktok live stream, even at JE mrt platform I am able to get quick connection to grab my shopee stuffs on both phones together at 6pm sharp.

My hse is quite near Westgate, using 4g router as hse broadband with Eight 4g sim, can watch youtube or viu. Speed not fantastic with 4g router but got 20-35mbps

Different pple have different pain point i guess. For me, if i am on the move, especially around crowded areas, i practically do not have any expectations on constant data connection. At the end of the day, as long as I am contactable and have seamless connection at my usual locations i am ok. Simba and Eight 1-for-1 offer are still the best deals i think. But of cos, to each his own. 😀

Anyone on 8 that let the line lapse and never renew nor recharge for a month?

If yes, how did you renew it?
Topup at shopfront, app, lazada or shopee?
Fyi I've not lapse my plan. You can login to eight apps/website to recharge the plan as long as it is within 60 days grace period.

Anyone manage to port out within the 1st month of signing up with eight?
I did that after 15 days later after porting into eight to try their Value Eight Plan (5G) to Vivifi and then after 2 months later to MAXX cause my secondary line is now zym hence having two lines under Singtel network is not what I wanted.

If port in from MyRepublic - does it count as a Starhub or a M1 network or both? Just want to know what discounts I'll be / not eligible for.

For those who have problems with eight 4G, you may give eight 5G a try.

If you want to port out, yet you want to keep the good free roaming voice feature of eight mobile plans, Starhub Prepaid 5G S$15 plan can be used. It even supports roaming outgoing SMS which eight and SIMBA do not support.

Check out my Speedtest result! How fast is your internet? https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/a/11732288748

Yes. Good speed in Jurong Area.

Yours is good speed. I mostly get minimum 300Mbps even at home. Except MRT on board which may drop below 100Mbps at times

I consider it better then my Eight 5G

Starhub Prepaid 5G Speed for reference at difficult locations.

EWL Underground MRT Station speed (Friday 7am) -- not great but usable.

Not sure if 7am to 7:10am on Friday morning is considered as peak hour or not.

No issues with EWL City Hall to Outram Park MRT (underground MRT stations) with my Poco X7 PRO phone, using StarHub Prepaid S plan (not the latest plan, S$3 per month special migration offer for Happy Prepaid Card users back in Nov 2025, usual price at S$10 per month, this plan is no longer available for new users).

The speed is not fast but pretty usable.

In that case, you may want to consider Starhub Prepaid 5G or M1 Maxx 5G if you need free roaming voice (M1 Maxx only to +65 number).

If no need free roaming voice, you can consider Zym 5G plan (Singtel MVNO). I tested it and it is similar to my Singtel S$15.28 plan for local usage with minor differences. Roaming bundle is decent and there is 10 minute free incoming roaming voice to avoid bill shock related to roaming voice. The good thing is that they have promotion now which give you free 5G forever for the S$10.1 4G plan, you also get three month free.

MR 4G is M1
MR 5G is starhub
already know what you said.

So if I’m using a Mr 5g plan now.
so if I port in to eight 4g plan that means I’ll be counted as out of non sh port in so I’ll be for any discounts.

if I port to a 5g Maxx plan I’ll be considered a non m1 port in.

If/when Eight (a StarHub subbrand) offers any port-in discounts it's likely they won't apply if you're porting in from MyRepublic 5G since that's an MVNO operating on StarHub's network. But currently there isn't any such port-in promotion, so it doesn't matter (for now).

Yes.
