Yes. Most phone have option for extended ram using internal storage. Eg. 8GB + 8GB. But still having actual ram more then 6GB make a difference if you run multiple app

Thus largely depends on usage. My use, 4GB + 2GB, sufficient.

For now, perhaps. When you're buying a Samsung A series phone in 2026 (for example) you're also buying several years of Android upgrades and application bloating into the future. What's tolerable today in 4GB will be intolerable soon enough.

Seriously, just get an 8GB RAM phone. They're not that expensive. Unless perhaps you routinely break your phones approximately every 12 months, and you're specifically looking for a "disposable" phone.

Zhuhai/Guangzhou/Shenzhen: consume 28GB APAC data first, then the 10GB International data.
Macau: consume the 10GB International data only, won't touch the APAC data allocated pack.
HK: consume the base plan 628GB data.

Didn't top up balance but bought the Double Eight plan yesterday via Shopee and got confirmation from eight almost immediately.

Hi, I'm interested in the Eight $10.80 5G plan and I'm considering to port over from my current Vivifi 4G Family Share plan. Total 5 lines.

I can't really tell if all the guys here are happy with the Eight 5G plan, after reading the latest posts up till June... so I would like to ask if this move to Eight is recommended. I see many comments about porting out (I'm guessing from Eight 4G) or upgrading to the 5G plan. What I don't really see are comments about whether the 5G is good or bad, in comparison to other telco / MVNO plans. Except for Zym, where I see a few posts about porting to that side...

I have been considering switching from 4G to 5G for quite a while, but never did it due to pricing. Somehow, my family (including 3 teenagers) seem ok with 4G and they've never really complained. The Vivifi Share plan $67 for 5 lines was good for us... but now I see that $10.80 plan

Any kind and frank advice for me? I have a 10Gb wifi7 broadband setup at home, so that settles internet use at home (except for a few blindspots and when they close the bedroom doors). My eldest son is also staying in one of the new halls at NTU, and I'm guessing 5G (Starhub) isn't great there...

I'm also considering getting the hi! 5G for students at $12 for my boys. I didn't realise there was this plan, as every plan was above $15 the last time I checked for 5G plans.

My advice is if it ain’t broke, and you are happy with existing plan, don’t change it.

Just like to check what is the Shopee merchant name you bought the $8 Double 8 Plan from ? Were you given the option to choose the HP number you want and how much did you pay for the SIM Card after Shopee coins deduction ? Thank you very much ...

Or you did not get a new plan / new HP number / new SIM card but just recharge your old Eight account for immediate 30 days usage countdown (rather than top up to main account balance) ?
