8 4g plans (Senior / Double Eight) very mixed reviews , some said getting only 2 , 3 mbps while some can consistently get 80 , 90 mbps!!!
its immediateFor those of you already on the $10.8 or $14.8 5G plan, do you see your data quota in the App increased to the new ones as advertised? Mine is still showing all the old ones. Not sure if it will only refresh upon the next billing cycle?
Strange...I thought supposed to come with roaming voice call ?Now in Japan, using iPhone, the $14.80 plan can use 5G under NTT Docomo. But cannot make any phone calls, the voice message keeps saying “you cannot make phone calls under the Eight Mobile Plan…”
Since when they supported roaming voice call ? I only know SIMBA / M1 Maxx have onlyStrange...I thought supposed to come with roaming voice call ?
You mean IDD? Calling from singapore to overseas numberStrange...I thought supposed to come with roaming voice call ?
Must turn on Volte in order to call. Comes with 288 mins cover incoming calls, outgoing calls back to Singapore, and outgoing calls to local numbers in the country you are visiting.Since when they supported roaming voice call ? I only know SIMBA / M1 Maxx have only
Are you still getting that 110mbps 4g speed or what are the speeds now ?So guys i realised something... 6am to 5pm and 8pm to 6am... Eight speed is (i am using Senior 4G)
download =110mbps and upload = 40mbps
5pm to 7pm\8pm.. download = 5mbps and upload = 25mbps.
I couldn't download my latest iOS firmware at 5.30pm. LOL! it said "6 hours remaining'
I have all the options under mobile service enabled, I also carry an Android phone with another Eight line under $10.8 5G plan and VOLTE switched on. Both phones able to hook on the NTT Docomo networks here with roaming data connections. But both phones cannot make outgoing calls to +65 numbers, the voice message saying the same thing that Cannot make outgoing calls on the Eight mobile line… So contradicting to their website advertised 288 mins roaming call minutes under supported Volte Network!Must turn on Volte in order to call. Personally I yet to try out but this is as per their website advisement.

Well, it is not important, just wanna leverage this traveling overseas opportunity to test out the roaming call feature of Eight, which can be a key differentiator vs other MVNO suppliers. Nowadays, expecting minimum usage of phone calls, but it could still be a “life saver” under certain rare circumstances.if idd is so important best to have backup if not just use WhatsApp
I managed to receive incoming voice call (not WhatsApp) on NTT, this was in Feb this year. I never tried outgoingNow in Japan, using iPhone, the $14.80 plan can use 5G under NTT Docomo. That's strange, last year November I was able to call back to Singapore when roaming on NTT network when using the $8 plan. I'm using iPhone if that helps.Now in Japan, using iPhone, the $14.80 plan can use 5G under NTT Docomo. I had a "similar" issue using NTT last year connected but no data coming in on ST MVno.. had to manually switch to another telco i.e KDDI or Softbank then it works, just roaming data for this case.That's strange, last year November I was able to call back to Singapore when roaming on NTT network when using the $8 plan. I had data issue too on NTT roaming on my Singtel 15.28 plan too, switching to SoftBank gives a better experience.I had a "similar" issue using NTT last year connected but no data coming in on ST MVno.. had to manually switch to another telco i.e KDDI or Softbank then it works, just roaming data for this case.
Those who are happy with the $8 plan better dont change plan anyway, it could be a point of no return.I'm on $10.80 Value Eight plan.
Can see that $8 Double Eight plan is still a selectable option for next recharge as well as change of plan.
Didn't go through with it, so can't confirm for sure that the transaction will go through.
Perhaps their business intention is to remove the old options soon - so that's their official response.
