The ones that are confirmed cheaper are Canon cameras/lenses, Seiko, Casio and Citizen watches. Anything else?

For other brands yes, but for Canon, they have an option to have the menu in English. Bought one 3 years ago, not sure about now.

Most people to get electronic stuff are;

1) people who wish to get their hands on product launched only or first in Japan
2) Collectables (Vintage camera, lenses, rare ranger finders)
3) electronic stuff that not available here.

For camera stuff, HK is a better place

few things to note when buying electronics in japan:
1) price - do ur homework and know the sg price before going. some things are not necessary cheaper there even though it is a japanese brand
2) warranty - make sure the product have international warranty
3) language - make sure u can configure the menu to english
4) voltage - check the adaptor/charger and ensure the voltage is 110-240v. if it is only 110v, u need a transformer coz the 240v in sg may kill the product

I am eyeing this too but more to buying lenses this time. Will have to check sony.com.sg with reference to mscolor prices.

Another note on voltage transformer. If the product uses an internal rechargeable battery, you have to also make sure you get a proper transformer at the right amperage/wattage. If you get any lousy MIC transformer without checking, you might be supplying the wrong power rating to the device and over time it will kill the battery or the charging circuits.

For Electronics device have to check if the adapter input 100v~240v, for example, singapore laptop adapter is in the range, so it can be use in Taiwan,Japan without the need of transformer. Not sure about other household appliances, transformer is also subject to wear and tear.
But Japan camera can be really cheap and good if you do your homework.
