Apple store Japan also offer tax free:)
bought macbook earlier this yr after yen fell and it's my second jap macbook
low yen plus tax free so its quite affordable.

Still got enough spare change to buy iPad :D

actually now because Yen is weak against SGD.. the prices of electronics in Japan is very attractive.. check out the ipad and ipad mini prices in Japan Apple Store n Singapore Apple Store n you will know what I mean.. buy in japan, at certain places, eg Bic Camera, you can get 5% tax rebate too..

Should be usable. I bought iPod touch from Japan before. The IOS and Mac OS are all multilingual.

Just need to check for voltage

To answer you both for macbook, yes can use, voltage no problem.
But the plug given is japanese/US twin flat pin, get any converter less than $5 convertor from elect shop or challenger to convert to our uk 3pin plug.

Take note of the keyboard type, they have either US or jp. cos buy already cannot change.
jp keyboard symbol placement is a bit different.

if confirm buying there, also consider buying applecare together cos its quite affordable too;)

can the ipad and macbook be used in Singapore ?

Do it fast tho, japanese news announced that apple is raising prices of mac and ipad across the board soon due to yen depreciation.

Almost bought an 13" NEC ultrabook at 875grams for $1200!!! Too bad the OS is only in Japanese. Only Dell offers English alternatives.

Retina macbook should be safe cos the refreshed 2013 retina MacBook already price raised after announcement, unlikely it will raise again. I was one week too late, no choice to pay more but overall still quite cheap.

Can try looking for Elecom and Buffalo stuff there.

Bought a Buffalo wired mouse for slightly less than $25. Pretty good.
