The tests that the ang moh did is really pretty indicative of what we are getting in the real world, coz it includes the fit/seal of the mask on his face.

*Looks at the clock on the wall* It's still early now...haven't hit happy hour yet in EDMW forum. Once the rest of the people come into this thread and see your good news, Qoo10 will be swamped tonight :D......

Wow, those three knifes look very well finished and of high quality. How much do they cost?

I think all three add up should be $300+ :o

Made in Japan, using VG-10 stainless steel.

150mm Petty Knife + 170mm Santoku + 215mm Bread Knife.

If you have kids, can also consider throwing in an order for maybe 20-50pcs for rough use for them. Note these are not real KF94s.
But can use for rough use, much better sealing.

The pricing for kids quite ok. Adults size is more ex.

Got some data on the cheong KN95s

From the guy who is doing the testing, particle size

Note : This also means that your 1-5 microns range filtration is going to be very good.

[teachable moment]

You know, guys...I always try not to let a teachable moment go to waste, so...

Boys and girls...do you now see why you should always learn to play (nicely) with all your friends instead of hoarding all your toys and not sharing? Because when everyone shares his/her toys with one another and plays together(aka working together as a team), the playtime becomes so much more fun and enjoyable for everyone(aka synergy/multiplier-effect is achieved).

In other words...as a collective, you have become A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH!

*For those who learn best visually*;)

Still waiting for them to have kids KF94 at current low prices for adult KF94.

That time during Feb/Mar, the kids KF94s were all bloody expensive.
Adult KF94s already not cheap, but the kids ones were more expensive.

ps. Talking about the real KF94s from South Korea. Not the cheong KF94 ones from Taobao.
Coz the TB kids KN95s are also not cheap (not sure if legit or not, coz most of them have a certain brand)

The level of synergy and tacit understanding that you guys have forged in this thread, not to mention the spirit of camaraderie and teamwork, plus the consistently genial nature of the (virtual) interactions that you guys have with each other, impresses me no end. Well, what can I say...I'm chuffed!

This thread is truly populated with lots of mature people, lurking or otherwise!

This is the reason why earloops won't pass NIOSH regulations (your N95, N99, N100) and only headbands can.

But this is not needed for us consumers. It would be needed for industrial applications and also healthcare workers.
This is the reason why you won't find earloops in a healthcare setting. (unless in LLST dire situations, coz i have seen earloop masks in other countries' COVID wards/ICUs, like in Europe back in March)

Took me few months hunting for the right one. The feel must be correct. Once it is correct, even my family will find it correct.

I cannot leave the task to my dad, he will come back with a 2kg knife that can cut through the spine of a pig.

My mom will come back with a series of knife but none is functional.

I gently sharpen it. Once so far.

What if I am in China then? Then likely I would like to visit this place.

Look at the surgical mask (as worn). 27.8%. The filter is 77% (@ 45nm/0.045 microns)
The side leakage is that high

Came across this, these are made up numbers, but this shows you the time difference between a N95 vs a half mask regarding hitting the infectious dose 50 number. (ie enough exposure that 50% of pax would get sick)

Wow, I guess having 17 people a day viewing a listing of a kitchen knife that costs US $54.99 does say a lot about it being not a "simple" knife. Didn't KnightDroid also mentioned something about Damascus knife earlier?
YUgh2dj.jpg

I only know Damascus the place, not Damascus the knife :s13:. Anyway, as the saying goes, "You learn something new everyday!"

Just as I suspected at first glance... it is made in China... because those 3 knives I posted here are among the cheapest VG-10 knives you can buy that are really made in Japan. And yet this one can beat the price... at a bigger size... but if it is really made from VG-10 steel maybe it is okay... but a lot of time the difference in quality is actually how they heat treat and forge it. But if they just get the raw VG-10 steel with damascus pattern on it from Japan.. and they just kinda cut it out using CNC machine and fit it with handle.. should be okay.. just that they cut down on other places, like cheaper rental, manpower etc...

I ever sell before their top range of knives to a regular customer... still remember the handle is made of a special kind of wood that exude a natural fragrance. And nope I do not work for Yuhua or Zhang Xiao Quan retailer. :s13:

That is a paring knife is it?? Hmm actually I am also looking if I need one but I rarely peel skin off any fruits or vegetable using knife.. because I would use a peeler for that.

It's just nice for small cuttings, although I can do it with a 2kg one...heh heh.

But either one will do also.
