I'm doing a monthly cpf dca of $450 into Endowus. Before I started the dca, I had some monies in cpfia account with dbs. They deducted the monies from the cpfia account until it was depleted before deducting from cpfoa. Deducting from cpfoa, this incurs $2.64 of bank fee every month. The monthly dca amount can go higher but I would like to keep some amount of my monthly contribution in cpfoa for future housing. The bank fee is almost 0.6% additional fee which is substantial.

I have more than one year of dca monies in cpfoa. I am thinking if I should invest that sum into a fund, liquidate and park the monies in cpfia and let endowus deduct every month. I incur only $2.64 per year. If there is activity aka deduction every month in cpfia account, they won't withdraw the monies back into cpfoa right?

Seek advice if its worthwhile.

cannot leave in cpfis. after 1 or 2 mths if no invest, will auot refund to cpfoa. dis per transaction fee and oso the quarterly bank fee is why i holding back using oa to invest.

similarly thinking of doing dis. buy a large fund den slowly cut back and invest. but not yet find a suitable low risk and yet allow to partial withdraw.

I got the below paragraph from ocbc website. In fact I sold one fund and the monies went to cpfia on 19 Oct. The dca monies were deducted in Nov and Dec until there's little left. Then I transfered the balance to cpfoa in Jan. I thought the monies will be transferred back to cpfoa in Jan but it didn't happen. I'm not sure if the auto transfer works monthly and maybe I just happen to initiate the transfer in the same month as the auto transfer back to cpfia.

It says if the account has been inactive. But if there is transactions every month, it isn't inactive at all.

Sell investments

When you sell your investment, the sales proceeds will be credited into your CPF Investment Account (CPFIA). We will automatically transfer the balance in your CPFIA to your CPF Ordinary Account if the account has been inactive for two consecutive months.

50% schroder asian growth
25% us 500
25% India equity fund

Posted from PCWX using SM-N960F

I just do 100% equity for Infinity US 500 stock index fund......keep it simple. And use my cash for non US exposures.

or you can simply choose their 100% equity recommended portfolio. there is a total of 4 funds in it.

Paisay... I pasted wrongly, i actually wanted to ask abt the Schroder.

Infinity US 500 Stock Index Fund (45%)
Infinity Global Stock Index Fund (40%)
Schroder Global Emerging Market Opportunities Fund (15%)

Infinity US 500 Stock Index Fund (45%)
Infinity Global Stock Index Fund (40%)
Schroder Global Emerging Market Opportunities Fund (15%)

In the end I just go with the recommended fund allocations, try $5000 and see how.

(40%) Infinity US 500 Stock Index Fund
(30%) Infinity Global Stock Index Fund
(15%) Schroder Global Emerging Market Opportunities Fund
(15%) First State Dividend Advantage

Avg Annual Return = 8.35%
Total Annual Fee = 1.03%

Btw, how can I set up monthly recurring of $1000? I can stop this recurring anytime, right?

TIA!

Anyone tried setting up a customised portfolio through Fund Smart yet?

I've been wanting to create satellite portfolios such as China/Asia-focus or ESG-thematic portfolios to complement my core 80/20 portfolio, but damn the fees are still rather on the high-end even after the rebates. I did heard from one of Endowus recent web seminars that they are looking to bring in SGD-denominated unit trusts containing ARK ETF in the future though.

The ESG Schroder Climate Change Fund has an eye-watering 1.99% for Cash-based investments :s22::s22:

Yea they are quite expensive for cash investments, unless you have a million or so. Haha.

Idk maybe one day they will reduce the AUM requirement for lower fees significantly, or just overall reduce. Not sure how it works, but might not be in the near future because stashaway is so big already yet they still don't lower their fees.

Don't keep your hope high on the Nikko AM arkk fund. It's going to be bloody expensive relative to the actual etf, even before endowus fees. Better to use brokerage to invest instead if you are so keen on arkk

I'm only using Endowus for my CPF. Satellite/thematics portfolios using Endowus or UTs are way too exp. You might want to look at ETFs instead though they incur fx exposures and some low comms but imo it's still worth it which I am doing

today saying goodbye to endowus after more than 1 year using CPF. decide to terminate after calculating the returns is less than 2.5% after including bank and CPFIS charges and trailer fee rebate. felt stupid to support them since they first launch. luckily i still have some fee waiver from referral codes or else returns will be lesser. really is no money cannot afford to anyhow invest.

Did you keep on buy and sell, going in and out of market? Or tweak your portfolios allocation all the time?

Investing your OA CPF is all abt the 10-20 year long-term view. You are guaranteed to beat 2.5% easily if you stay the course in passive index funds.

CPF or cash, investments are for the long haul, easily 10 to 20 years timeframe. I invested my CPF more than 10 years ago and topping up yearly. Returns have been more than 2.5% with full 100% equity.

Many alr commented your time horizon firstly too short. It's just a year for now. 2nd, u do it monthly the bank fees adds up u need to take that into factor.

Over the past 2 year, I've only deposited 3 times in small lump sums and definitely more than 2.5%. If not for the recent dip in US, else my highest I've seen is 12%.

There are worst performing robos out there.

Hmm the time horizon and monthly investment may not be the best option, but it is up to your own judgment I guess..

I did a small lump sum back in 2019 and didn’t touch it at all, it is giving me 14% on a 60/40 portfolio.
