Looking to buy my first entry level conti car, probably end of the year.

Comparing CLA180 vs A class sedan vs BMW 2 coupe vs Passat.

In terms of look, BMW 2 coupe is my number 1 choice
However for practicality, im also looking at A class sedan, which will be released end of year.
Is coupe troublesome? Im married with no children. so having just 2 doors, not sure how would that affect things
Im hearing quite alot of issues with VW gearbox, however Passat is a really nice looking car with ample of space. so im putting it in my list.

depends on your family size and needs? The A class might not be suitable if u have a family or looking to have kids soon with boot space being limited. But the all digital meters and turbine air vents, is surely a good value buy at that price point.

from his listed choices, i think he is looking for either a sedan or coupe though.

I see you have the Passat shortlisted due to the space. U can also consider the Skoda Superb. Spacious.

I think you are refering to the normal HB A class? im refering to the sedan version of it.

I think boot space shouldnt be a problem

ITT people missing the point

I was similar situation, narrowed down to A4/CLA/BMW 3 (needed 4 doors for future proofing). Found the A3/1 series/A series all a bit too small inside cabin. CLA has really bad headroom in the back and is more expensive than the A4/3 series for worse drive (but a nicer interior).

Between A4 and BMW prefer looks/drive of BMW 3 so ended up doing that.

Whatever you get, would recommend getting the HUD. It's the biggest marginal quality of life improvement IMO (like getting a SSD for your PC)

But it not fair to compare cla with a4 and 3 series , especially 330 .
Should compare c class instead.
Cla is comparable to a3 and 2 series

Heads up display. Speed limit + speedometer + GPS and alerts projected onto the windscreen so you don't have to take eyes away from road for the information
