yup, my cousin literally just took our grandmother's savings left by our grandfather for her old age to start his renovation business, never repay nothing. his side of the family all staunch buddist too, doesn't help to add to my impression of religion.
Just because a person wear a monk robe, doesn’t mean he is a monk.
Just because a person called himself Buddhist, doesn’t mean he is a real Buddhist.

Buddhist teaching doesn’t teach one to steal and commit evil. Instead it teaches one to be filial and act wholesomely, refraining from committing evils otherwise there will be bad consequences.

if he still wants to do it, what has it to do with the religion?

I think it would be wise to contemplate on this before passing judgement.

In my opinion it has everything to do with the religion because he believes so strongly in it so it defines his behaviour, which becomes affects his actions, affecting his character and eventually him as a person.
