Sorry maybe my understanding is wrong .
That Apple care protection is only for the rest of the Apple products which does not include Iphone.
You might want to read up on the link u sent and clearly it is stated for what kind of product is covered under Apple care protection plan.

Iphone is covered only under AppleCare+ which must be bought within 60days.
Previously when it was still AppleCare and u can purchase it in a package , YES it is within a year but it all changed when Applecare+ was introduced during IPhone 5s era.

Am a user of AppleCare+ since the introduction of it, maybe you have experience in purchasing the AppleCare after the 60days do share as this might benefit all the iPhone users.

It’s stated on AppleCare website, iPhone must be within 60 days of activation..

Excuse me, I was under the impression you were referring to iPhone X.. lol.

Diagnostic test includes running a script on your phone and sends to Apple.. usually if you drop the phone, accelerometer could already capture the drop, but it’s not 100% reliable..

Finally experienced a crack screen. A small crack though that’s deep enough to give a prism effect. Say if I get Apple Care+ now and go through the procedures, still possible right?

U r not alone... I feel it’s more safer for Drivers as my phone mount is not facing me direct. Can’t do face scan where fingerprints is still better for me. My personal opinion.

Actually I come from iphone 8 to iphone X, the reverse. FaceID works well for me as I mount my phone to face me. Every time I get a message I just glance over and my phone unlock to show the message previews - don't even need to touch the phone.

And at a traffic junction if I want to reply - just 3D press or swipe the message to go straight into the program... don't need to put finger on sensor again before going in....

I guess different strokes for different folks.....

Me. I’ve not dropped my phone but I have a small hairline crack. Not scratch but crack. Never happened before in previous iPhones which I never had screen protector on. Looking to get it repaired from Apple.
