Coming from s8+ to iPhone X, there are a few misconceptions that I wanna address here. Samsung uses iris scanning, which uses infrared in the first place for identifying your irises. It’s not the same as Face ID. Because iris scanning uses infrared, under bright sunlight or under direct sunlight, iris scanning will fail as UV light will over power the infrared. If u don’t understand this, you’ll need to fall back on your secondary school physics on light spectrum.
Secondly, Samsung adaptive fast charge will not work on iPhones because its chipset dependent, not charger dependent per se.
Lastly, before Apple even invested on wireless charging, Samsung has already implemented fast wireless charging at 15W for at least 3 generations of phones already.
As far as different technologies exist for us to play with, don’t use the word gimmicky when it fails on you because every technology will have limitation.
For that, Face ID doesn’t work on people with severe burns on face and loss of facial features like eyes or zygomatic arch. It’s rare to have people failing Face ID, it’s the same as iris scanning would fail under extreme UV environment too..
