Hi wanna check that since we are using face id which activates when close to our face, isn't raise to wake function a bit redundant?

If phone always scan then waste battery.. If I not wrong.. U hold the phone it wakes then scan face with IR then dot matrix 3d scanner.

When I get the phone for the first time, are there any specific things I should check for (other than the usual check camera works, no cracks/scratches on screen, screen has no dead spots)?

Another dumb function is when i use Face ID for apple store. When that is activated I have to click the power button twice. Can they use scan the face instead? Now back to keying in the Apple ID every time I download an app.

Probably it’s code based feature in which the app will rely back on Apple Pay mechanism..

Anyone got recommended Data tracking app for iOS beside the default telco app?

Since Starhub introduce weekend "unlimited" data, my preferred data manager/tracking app "DataMan" can add widget to see data usage but cannot customize the data to set weekend to unlimited and only track weekday usage therefore it's not accurate.

For some unknown reason, nowadays use home Starhub fibre internet download apps from App Store is so damn slow, switch to LTE and download instantly finish!.

Didn’t Starhub app will pause data tracking when your unlimited data period kicks in?

Yup I know, but it’s kind of troublesome to keep opening the app to track. If there is a 3rd party data manager allowing such pausing it will be better because a widget can be added. One swipe to the right can see already, so far most data manager app unable to do such function just why I am asking around.

That’s not dumb at all. They need user input to confirm a purchase. If not there is a chance of accidentally paying for stuff.

Hopefully they tested for reliability, if not it will get damaged prematurely like the home button some time ago
you mean overuse of the home button?

technically. you only use it for Apple Pay and to lock the screen.

tap to wake, raise to wake.

there's no physical home button from iPhone from 7 onwards

yes. this is the first iPhone that the user has to accommodate to the device.
very weird. maybe the streak is coming to an end for Jony Ive.

I actually used the double click on the home button to bring up Apple Pay on iPhone 7 Plus, so double click the power button is very much welcome for me.

Is anyone using and loving the "Show notifications only when unlocked" on the iPhone X?

So will use up more battery life?
