On the contrary... today i was at the apple store orchard waiting for my turn for battery change, a tourist from canada had his phone smashed up. The genius bar guy said can be repaired or replace as he has apple care+. So i took the chance when the genius bar walked away, and asked him a quick question about phones bought from other country with apple care+, does Singapore honour it...? He says yes. They honour it.

Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device.

Likely due to Modem differences. HW-wise they do have small differences which can be ID-ed by the model Number

However, Apple's computer warranties are international
The warranty is established in the country of purchase and if warranty service is not available in the country where the device is when service is requested, you may be on the hook for import/export duties as well as paying for the shipping.

If you are based in China long-term. Maybe try contact Apple support(online) to see if they can assist ?

There was once they offered to replace my iphone battery in Vietnam instead of SG when I told them I am based there instead.

Anybody managed to get Google opinion rewards to work on iPhone x? Tried to change to US store but it prompts me to change to SG store. Once I do that it asked me to change to US store.
