1. Japan model have always on camera shutter sound due to their law
2. Dubai model has their Facetime disabled again due to their law.
3. Europe/UK model still got the ugly FCC labels.
The next best for us (let’s say we don’t not talking about our local set A1901) will be HK set A1865 like you said, using Qualcomm modem + cheaper RRP.
iPhone X A1865 Qualcomm Modem vs A1901 Intel Modem

Japan is using the exclusive A1902 model whose camera shutter sound cannot be disabled.
HK and China both get the superior A1865 model.
So hk this time also got the Qualcomm version ?
Ya I know of the japan edition can't off sound
Yes, HK has Qualcomm version but HK set does not support CDMA. but all phones are local warranty so no official warranty here if you buy foreign sets. Also, even if on few extremely rare incidents that Apple agrees to repair/replace your foreign iPhone (most probably with AppleCare), it will be replaced with local set so it will be back to Intel modem.
In fact, iPhone 1 to iPhone 4 all use infineon modems (later acquired by Intel). iPhone 4s onwards all using Qualcomm modems. The problem with Qualcomm is that it started in CDMA and use many illegal business practices to stay monopoly and charge high fees to all handset makers, so no one really wants to use them but have no choice either because no other suppliers or bounded by some "illegal" exclusive contracts with Qualcomm. Apple ended that 5-year contract last year so started to diversify using Intel modem.
For all those who use local iPhone 7/7+, could you pls share if you encounter any signal/call drop/low coverage/slow recovery from 3G to 4G issues etc?

Amid an escalating legal battle with Qualcomm, Apple is designing its 2018 iPhones and iPads without Qualcomm LTE chips, reports The Wall Street Journal. Apple is instead considering using only modem chips from Intel and perhaps MediaTek in its next-generation devices.
Yes, please. Completely shut the door on QC pls.
what so bad about Qualcomm?Yes, please. Completely shut the door on QC pls.
As long as it's better than Pixel 2 XL. And considering that Apple got their panel from Samsung and not LG, there shouldn't be any problem.
i quite nervous on Apple's calibration of OLED
what so bad about Qualcomm?
will it drive the overall smartphone prices down if royalties are no longer paid?
