Yeah thats what i said. It only force close apps if its overloaded and need more memory. Overloading your ram will cause slight lag and battery drain as its running all the apps in the background that are not close. Dont believe you try open 20 apps see got slight lag anot

IOS will force close apps if it needs more memory..these days ram is very battery efficient.

More apps open means eat more ram means eat more battery. No? Unless there are too many apps open then some are forced close by ios.

Actually iOS doesn’t really multitask the way android does. The app doesn’t really run in the background but instead goes into suspend mode. What happens is the background functionality is handed off to iOS’s APIs which handle stuff like background audio, navigation, VOIP, etc.

When there is insufficient memory for new apps, iOS will then close any suspended app which has no background task. This happens very rapidly as iPhones have fast NVMe NAND flash storage.

Hence force closing apps which are suspended doesn’t really save battery at all and will use more if you frequently re-open the app as everything needs to be reloaded and restarted.

Some apps do take advantage of the framework to avoid being force closed. Facebook, YouTube and Baidu Maps are all known to play silent audio to avoid being forced close. If you check your battery stats, you’ll see the app reported as background task, audio.

I’m using an Anker 24w wall charger and it charges quite quickly. Will USB C PD be worth the additional cost and gear?

maximum from each port is 12W

so the apple usb-pd charging is 2 times as fast counting losses

Wow. The face ID.

Even when the face is looking at the phone but eyes look elsewhere it won't unlock

If your background app uses location surely that drains battery life no?

Depends. Location API is a common service used by weather app, time, etc. Unless the App polls the location service heavily like Waze, shouldn’t drain much battery

I find that iOS (not iPhone X specific) does not play nice with the Dropbox app.
With Android, Dropbox will continue to upload your pictures in the background until everything is uploaded.
Under iOS, the app is suspended in the background even if background refresh is enabled... so your pictures don't get uploaded unless u keep the Dropbox app open.
