I dont see why sony need to drop price for ps4 and pro. $499 with no games vs $399 with a bunch of exclusives to boast, they already win by default. And nintendo isnt a threat, its clear that the switch and ps4 can co-exist with different selling points.

More likely is the ps vr might get a price drop as they are lacking first party titles now, dropping the hardware price can help boost sales if the rumor about sony increasing ps vr production is true. The latest farpoint bundle can sell better too, i dont imagine it doing very well so far despite the reviews.

Maybe they're already up to something new ... err... another console?, you know SONY. They won't be there if not for those bold moves and ideas:D

New console ah... maybe Vita 2? :D
Really hope that happens as rumored, with microSD support :)

think if got VITA2, the thing will get leaked liked no tomorrow

i really don't think Sony can concentrate on having more than 1 main system. their PSTV failed (or did it?). VITA failed. PS games on smartphones failed.

they are always considered as the little brother system.

actually PS4 got Yakuza i don't know why they would want to remaster Shenmue. don't think Sega is holding on to the rights to the series at least in US.

that game doesn't really age well. that game not easy to remaster considering the aspect ratio is not the same. and the game mechanics quite primitive also :s13:
don't get me wrong. i love the series.

for people who didt get to play the game 15 years ago, i did played mine on dreamcast back then,

so for those who wants to buy shenmue 3 when it get release someday, but oso want to know more abt the story before, a remaster is needed.

but i guess its more or less of a fund thing now. if they need kickstart fund for shenmue 3, they probably need to kickstart fund for remaster oso.

Unless they're prepared to back it with lots of exclusives suitable for portable consoles that doesn't have PS4 version as well, coming up with a vita 2 isn't wise. Plus it has to be really powerful, since sony's selling point is graphics. Maybe a portable console with an upgrade-able module would be great.

oh yeah.

On May 28, developer Ys Net confirmed Shenmue 3 would not appear at E3 this year. However, a new character was revealed for the game.

I also don't think Sony will drop the price of Pro. They might have a plan to drop it if Microsoft's Scorpio (One X) matches the USD 399, but since MS announced it at 100 bucks more, there's no need for them to drop anymore.
