Think about it. Some Xbox games are playable on PC. So why would I buy the Xbox One X where I'll have to pay for subscriptions to play online when I can just play the PC (Windows 10) version and still play against you there?

Its freaking hard to find online players for "Window store" games.

“Without Steam, without other platforms, it was just painful,” says another. “The Windows Store is a giant disaster. It’s on fire. 98% of PC copies of Rise of the Tomb Raider, a flagship Windows 10 game, were bought on Steam. The same is true for Minecraft. That hurt us, too. The store’s a mess; the number of people who couldn’t even install the game from the Microsoft store was… significant.”

going PC, then you have to deal with driver issues
Windows Updates
viruses
modular also means you have to find a proper way to correctly diagnosis which part is faulty

Cuphead :s22: not too sure why they need to make a big deal out of it.

And deal with hackers online... but all these are part and parcel of PC gaming.

Quite true though. That is why I think I can live with not playing the Exclusive Xbox 2D side scrolling games on the Windows 10 Store.

Kind of true for this one. The only reason why I sometimes prefer to play multiplayer games on console.
But single player wise, I'll go for the archival version any time which is PC.

A lot of previous PC titles launched on the same day as console but they were still ultimately ported from the console. Its just a matter of whether its a gd or bad pc port. Even gears of war 4 is ported from the console.

"Console port" is really a misnomer. All games were developed on the PC, so how can they be ported over back to where they were developed? :s13:

To me there is no such thing as a console port, there is only a poorly optimised game, we see it in both consoles and PC, prey is a very good example of a very poorly optimised title on the ps4.

It's a 4K 2D side-scrolling console ba. That's why you see so many exclusives dedicated to it.

Did anyone see the Xbox version of Rachet and Clank called Super Lucky's Tale? Just because you may have the most powerful console, what's the use when the game can't even compete graphically to the PS4 equivalent? :s13:

Windows updates? PCs can download games and updates faster than any console downloading its game. :s22: (speaking from experience of both PC and console)

Viruses? What era do you live in? Most viruses only affect older OS. And I've been free of viruses for a long while with my dependable ESET Smart Security anti-virus for years from laptop days to desktop PC.

Driver issues? If the game is Xbox exclusive, if you use the Windows 10 version which is running DX12, it is usually quite similar to the Xbox but better. See Gears of War as an example.

Have yet to have a PC game crash on me with the reason being drivers. Imagine how much stress that would be while playing Overwatch.
jus kidding. those are the common petty argument for PC vs Consoles :s13:

actually i myself am building a PC now, too bad X1X can't run standard Windows 10, if not i will jus get X1X. save all the trouble.

Oh that reminds me. Did you guys hear how Phil mentioned getting 4K updates for FREE? The way he keeps on emphasizing it worries me.

He is trying to find a way to get us to pay for something that should be free since it belongs in the same console family like the PS4 and PS4 Pro's 4K equivalent of the same title.

Very very worrying. Disgusting how they are trying to find more ways to charge consumers.

For all we know, in the future, no longer will 4K texture packs be called an update but a DLC like "Super 4K texture pack" priced at $9.99. All because of Xbox planting the seed right now. Let's just hope this thing passes by and is not here to stay.

I got your point, and to be frank with you, the PC versions of those exclusives so far aren't as fantastic as you think. Forza, gears of war, they all had their fair share of problems on PC at launch.

At launch maybe, but many console games have had huge problems at launch too, I think its alright as long as the problems are fixed quickly.

The main issue about PC ports isn't because they were built for the consoles ground up. The developers of the ports were inexperienced or just half hearted about it. Batman arkham knight was outsourced to a less experienced developer who ended up messing up the port. I dunno dishonored 2 is outsourced or not but the PC port was crap as well; however Prey was from arkane studios as well same as dishonored 2, and there were no issues whatsoever. Bayonetta and vanquish were originally console games only, and yet the ports were done fantastically. Final fantasy XIII and XIII-2 were a mess on PC, but lightning returns was amazing.

Its all about experience and priorities, not because the game is a console port or not. In the first place, every game is being developed using a PC, no? You don't see ppl typing c++ codes using a dualshock 4 right? lol

Yep totally agree.

There aren't 22 exclusives, in fact I don't think there is any scorpio exclusive, all the launch titles will also be on the PC, don't see any reason to get the scorpio unless one is gaming on a tight budget.
Ignoring PC for the moment, the only NEW xbox (xb1 or x1x) exclusive MS shown in the press conference is the Ori sequel. The others we have seen before (state of decay 2, sea of thieves, crackdown 3, ...). A couple are time-exclusives. A couple of PC mp games ported to xbox. The rest are new multiplatform games. There is really nothing new going for them, regardless which xbox console.

2014, Announces Cuphead. Then every year show Cuphead till 2017. :s13:

Fans are just happy that it has a release date now, after the long wait.

I doubt it's going to make a big impact. The Steamboat Willie art style is not for everyone. 2D platforming game is not for everyone, especially this one is ridiculously (and unnecessarily, unfairly) hard, like Super Meat Boy hard. I think many fans attracted by the art style is going to be frustrated by the gameplay. At best it will gain a cult following and some good reviews (assuming the end product is good, and not like Mighty No.9), it's not gonna to be a big deal to the mainstream.

oh. for me, 2D games age better than 3D games. look at Castlevania SOTN. if there is a release on Switch i will buy the game again (4th time?)

Street Fighter 3 still look better and feel than 4 and 5.

Shouldn't be too hard for sony to "win" this E3 as usual. Just have to do the following:

- show trailers for new games (bloodborne 2 most likely, also hope to see horizon expansion)
- announce release dates for spiderman/days gone/god of war/detroit, hopefully latest Q1 2018
- announce more PS VR exclusives, maybe even announce a price drop for PS VR
