need to change some funds to sterling pounds, went onto the dbs foreign exchange rate site and they're selling it for 2.0027% on the dollar! Mustafa & the arcade have slight lower rates but not suitable for me as they can't change big amounts. Only a few grand at a time whereas i need big amounts at one shot. Plus i feel more safe at the bank, don't want to kena rob at the arcade's staircase.

Good Rate, Internet showing $23.74 now. I wanted to change 2 weeks ago in KaoSiung too but it was close due to Typhoon. Going to change in 2 weeks time at ChangHua.

Arcade is a place next to Raffles Place MRT where there are many money changers. You can try walking around to compare the rates as they are usually prominently displayed on the electronic board. Otherwise, you can try asking them if the crowd is thin. Well, nobody knows if the rate is going up or down so there really isn't a 'good' day to buy. So far the SGD/TWD rate has been hovering around 23.8-24.1 for the past couple of weeks...likewise, the rate offered by the money changers has been fluctuating around 23.4-23.8.
