Hi Calkel,

So you mean just change all the cash here in Singapore?

Me? I have spares. So if it is not a weekend arrival, i will make a point to go dbs taiwan.
The nearest branch near taipei main station, is at 善導寺station.

Rates can be viewed at DBS

Then again, it really depends on how much you are going to change too.

Some prefer to keep SIN$ and change there when u really run out.

Hi Calkel,

Sorry i dun quite understand.
So what would be amount to make it "worth" to change at dbs taiwan??

I suppose there are two options:

1) Bring SGD and change to NTD at DBS taiwan directly (there is a counter for that in the bank?)

2) Use our ATM card and withdraw NTD (i suppose POSB card works also?)

Thanks in advance.

Going to taiwan for the 1st time in Oct and doing research....

1) Yes over the counter with TWMMs.
2) Yes only if you have activated your posb atm card.

Make it worth? Means if the difference per 100 dollars is only 3NT compared to arcade, means you will have to change 1000sgd to get or earn 30nt. You need to factor in the time and transport fare to get there.

Hope that makes it clearer.
:)

In any sense if anyone offers you to change at the same rate as money changer online over here, why risk it? You are at higher risk of getting fakes more than over at any money changers.

Hi calkel

Thanks for your explanation.

One more thing, when you say activate posb card, you mean to activate it overseas use rite?

Also a curious question, when you withdraw NTD from the atm, what is the starting amount? For example, in singapore the starting amount is $20.

How come one more thing become two more?

Yes, to make sure activate for overseas usage.
Two amount? Likely 500ntd起跳。

This means for every NT$100, it is equivalent to S$4.xx.

To get S$1 = NT$xx, divide 100 by 4.xx.
