i intend to change 500 sgd when i land at tpe megabank.. i saw for exchange of currency only on weekdays just a few post earlier.. is that applicable at the airport only?

i staying near taipei TRA i believe there should be similarly priced counters in the area?

airport moneychanger opens everyday

Only if u exchange at thr bank branches in town then of course u can only change during bank opening hrs(weekdays only)
and take note last timing for currency exchange at branches is 3.30pm

Just now i go arcade walk walk a bit i saw 1 rate at 21.8x

Seems like local moneychangers suppress rates during peak period to earn more

Hi all, there is a megabank near to exit 4 of ximending station. Remember to bring passport if exchange currency. Today's rate at the bank is 21.82

There are many banks in XMD but only major banks carry SGD. just go straight for Taiwan bank or Megabank

There are also currency exchange at those big department malls. Exchange rate is better than hotels. 21.15

If all else fails, locate a 7-11 and you may withdrawn money from there if you have a ATM card with Plus/Cirrus. There will be an additional charge of NT100.

If you can locate a DBS bank, then the withdrawal fees are waived.

Credit cards are not so widely accepted (( and do expect an admin fee even if they do

Airport counters are open everyday. Banks in towns are weekdays only.

I use paywave too. So dun really care too much abt rates etc as long cash can still keep.
