How about those sold in SG Tech and PC Show?
How to tell a Fake Redmi Note?
Hello guys. I'm here to report about my experience as a victim of this fake redmiReally wish i read this thread first before buying.
I bought a fake redmi in one of the shop in sim lim square. Have tried to get my money back because i told the seller this is not what i ask for. I even showed him the pic from this forum about the fake redmi, but he denied and tell me this is redmi. They told me no refund. I got mad and told him if he don't want to refund my money i'll make a police report. He laugh and told me "then go report lahh!" ..so i didi made the call and later 3 policemen came and i explain about my situation.
After that we went to the shop together and the policemen ask a few question from the seller. After all that, the policemen told me they have done everything they could and now an AIO(assistant investigation officer?) will take over this case. He told me to report this case to Consumer Association of Singapore(CASE) and later call back the AIO for follow-up about the case. I ask whether i can get my money back, he said i might get my money back from CASE but i doubt it. They said if i got a valid case they will probably raid the shop.
I doubt i'll get my money backbut what i want to know, are singaporean policemen can be trusted? and how long it takes for this case to resolve? Anyone ever makes a police report like this before?
P.s: want to upload the pics about the report and the shop but low post count, sorry
its mobile air pte, got one punk fellow inside, so samseng one.which ship in SLQ?
Bro why never take photo and put the name of the shop? Cos IO report dun allow?
Basically go and bargain with the person. Tell him that you really know it is a fake and no point lying to you. Then tell him nicely that by refunding, you wont pursue the matter and spread it around so that people will know abt the fakes and find fault with him.
In a way, let him feel that by refunding you, he can avoid more troubles from you and others innocent customers. Let him refund you first before exposing him online .
Let it be a lesson for him for trying to scam you and deny you of your refund. And also raise awareness for the public against such scams.
, and the police also gave me advice let them handle this case and don't come back here for my own safety.Sorry for the late reply, got so many works to do.

I did took the photos of the shop, but then the fellow there got angry and said they can smash my phone if I took their photo because it's illegal to do so(later i confirmed at the information center there, the makcik said it's the mall's regulation). But i do manage to take some pictures though. I already insisted on getting my money refund, but he always respond with higher voice. Lastly the conversation end when he dare me to go make a police report.
By the way, I'm just a lone tourist(my friends all went back to malaysia already at that time) and don't know anybody in Singapore, if somehow they attacked me or smash my phone or took the fake phone(evidence) back then it's game over for me lol, and the police also gave me advice let them handle this case and don't come back here for my own safety.
Current update on my case, I already lodged a complaint to Singapore tourism board as the policemen suggested, but unable to complaint at CASE because it's for the local only?(need NRIC number for online complain and when i called, they refer me to the singapore tourism board again). I saw a few other options at their website though, i can ask them to be the mediator between me and the shop, or i can choose legal option via the small claim tribunal(last resort, probably gonna take a long time for this stupid small matter). Now I'm trying to contact my AIO for follow-up about the case..
areafkun mentioned earlierWhere in SLS is the shop located? Name of Shop?
Hello. I'm in Singapore right now, just wanna update my case, and its not getting better actually..
23th june
1. Went to CASE, talk with jasmine ong, their representative, and she told me they will try to negotiate first with the vendor, secondly, if they refuse, i can proceed with SCT, and since im a tourist, CASE can help me with the process until the judgement part. She also suggest me to go to the xiaomi service center to verify about the originality of the phone and wether i can get a written statement from them(can be use in court).
2. went to service center, they told me without doubt that's not a real one, but didn't agree to give written statement, they afraid to be accountable for what in the statement. instead they told me it can be check online using imei number at their official website (but its in chinese =.=)
24th june
1. CASE called me and said the vendor refuse to refund me and insisted yet again that the phone is the real one. *sigh*. she asked me wether to proceed with sct, and told me its gonna takes at least a few weeks. i remembered that for tourist, sct can do it within 24 hours so decided to try represent myself.(at this time its already 12pm)
2. Going to state court(chinatown) but decided to stop at police hq at cantonment since its just one stop before chinatown(im from woodland btw) and enquire about updates in my report from before. turns out they don't do anything at all about my case and the blue card they gave me before is just a prove that i have called 999 and the policement have come and handle the dispute. thats all!
3. Went to state court(4pm) and the registrar got quite mad because i decided to come at that hours lol. we talked a bit about the process and lastly she makes an appointment for me with mr Pillay from CASE at 9am to help me in my case. (she told me the pro and con if i represent myself since im a tourist) and also remind me again to come back tomorrow morning if i decided to represent myself after talking with mr pillay.
25th june(today)
1. Went back AGAIN to CASE, met with mr pillay, talks for a few minutes and decided to let them handle the SCT. im TIRED from doing all this and dont want to give meaningless effort anymore, spent so much money on transport and food somemore.
It's quite sad because i understand a lot of you can get your money refunded easily, but its very hard for me to get mine. maybe because I'm a tourist and they want to take advantage? by the way, i believe my case is strong but from what i understand, sometimes the court dont grant full refund to the claimant and ALSO, the vendor can have 1 month to pay back the money, but he can also simply REFUSE to pay at all, in which case i can proceed with wss(writ seizure and sales something) to sell any of their moveable asset, but this require more MONEY(500s$) and TIME(more months), both of which i dont have.
Sad to say, but i think this is a losing battle and dont want to spent more of my money and time. too bad, i know it's a good phone..
I salute you for your persistence and feel sorry for what happen.
Hope you succeeed in getting back your money finally.
It's just so weird that none of them, the police, CASE, Court, SCT cannot do anything to help when it's obviously a fake. I hope there's good news for you soon.
