static allocation of /48 prefix?
actually why so obessed with this? /48 or /56? :s13:

To me like /59 is more than enough for most user. There's already 32 subnets.

Most network don't even use so many subnets

a static allocation of /48 makes it a lot easier to subnet.. :o

/59 more than enough for most home users is correct lah, but ISPs don't even give you more than 1 /64 other than Singtel....

allocating smaller subnets also meant they need to rework their addressing plan when they do have to allocate larger subnets in the future. that's another inertia against change. *shrug*

Singtel DNS server: 165.21.83.88 (similar result for 165.21.100.88).

Just for reference: CISCO OpenDNS Singapore IP 67.215.80.72, I guess they only need to cater for Singapore users.

International routing table seems to be updated on a weekly basis so the latency can be different week to week.

For POP to POP communications

It looks like you are using ILC links for POP to POP connections? Are 8 submarine cable systems going to 8 different POP? Usually an ILC using the subsea cable is a combination of at least 2 cable systems if it is long distance. For instance if the POP is in USA the the ILC link use 1 subsea cable from Singapore to Japan (APG, AAG, SJC, ASE, C2C...etc) first then interconnect to another subsea cable from Japan to USA (PC1, Faster, NCP, Unity...etc), it rarely has 1 subsea cable system connect end to end between 2 POPs.

Not in this industry and need to use Google to search for some info.
