Hi Cookie Muncher,

NTUC learning hub is selling at a cheaper price. The course fees is $1744 (before gst) and includes both course and exam. For more information, you can visit the course and exam website.

Once you clear the exam, can claim how much from CITREPII?

Hi,

I would recommend Jeffrey Foo fm NTUC as he is very experienced and knowledgable.
For those who are looking to purchase the PMP book, A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge ( PMBOK® Guide )—Fifth Edition (ENGLISH) I have 2 copies for sale.

Copy 1 is new and unused. Selling at $50
Copy 2 has pen underline at page 3. Selling at $40

If you are interested in the book, pls PM me.

Thanks!

Hi all,
I just passed my PMP exam last week. Rita's guide and fastrack examprep really help.
For remembering the pmpbok process knowledge group i used a free andriod app called "pmp sheets"

I also attended Jeffery Foo's lesson at NTUC last year. He is very professional one with many years of experiences. The course price at that time is around $2500. Any price lower than that, just go and take.

Online i saw some providers of pmp training that are able to claim the 35 hours. It is alot cheaper , a few hundreds only but i do not recommend that as i think face to face training is better.

Any questions can PM me.

I'm thinking of doing CAPM but not too sure about it.

Is there a self-study pack + private registration thingy?
How is the exam administered and how often? Test center / online?

Thanks!

you can try one of the pmp providers here that provide study and help with exam administration. Self study is way too difficult if you have not been an prog manager for a couple of years.

I went for the exam prometric test at international plaza test centre. It is computer based and you will know your results on the spot and if you passed, you start as a PMP on that day.

hi guys, quick check here - I am currently planning to take the PMP soon but I only clocked 24 hours for my formal training.

Anyone knows if there are any 2 days course or elearning that can be part of the formal training?

if you wish to clocked additional contact hours(35 contact hours need to be clocked). You can try PMstudy(PMP Training - PMP certification and PMP Exam Prep Classes) they are one of the authorized training partners with pmp.

the one at RMC also have a 12 contact hours deal at 288. PMP Exam Prep Online, Eighth Edition - Aligned with The PMBOK Guide, Fifth Edition (2013)

Hi all. I am thinking of going into project management. However without prior experience, it seems it is pretty hard to get even an imterview. Hence I am thinking of upgrading myself. Thinking of taking the CAPM course first. Maybe taking up PMP after I have a few years experience.

Just a few questions. Is this course applicable for all industry, degree. Is it really useful and recognised.

Help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

CAPM is a good entry level qualification.
If you search PMP jobs, most of them will be IT related.
Some MNCs will specifically look for PMP certified managers.

PMP is a skillset to help supplement your other skills like engineering, IT,etc. But there are project management firms like faithful & Gould that just hire PMs to manage projects.

As more and more foreign nationals from Myanmar, Philipines, Malaysia and china compete for our technical jobs, it is always good to have a PMP credential for future career progression and have an edge over the competition.:)

I am not in the IT industry. But I have seen ads looking for project engineer or manager in industry such as oil and gas or pharma. Is getting the certification going to let me have an edge in getting the job?

you will have an edge if you have some experience in that industry. Otherwise you have to take a junior position 1st to learn the ropes.

Best PMP Course?

Hi all,
I found the info on this thread helpful especially in figuring out what books to get.

Has anyone else taken the PMP certification recently? And what center did you attend the course from? I am torn between
1. NTUC learning hub ($2400+)
2. iKompass ($2600+)
3. ISS (NUS) ($3300+)

ISS seems abnormally high. I wonder why. But NTUC and iKompass are competitively priced so I wouldn't mind either one if it's recommended to be better.

What do you guys think?

Cheapest better, only need their contact hour anyway. Take note syllabus change dec 2015, more ITTO added.

I want to get it over and done with ASAP. So if I do the course in late july I want to sign up and sit for the exam before late August. Is that feasible? Is there a waiting period to get an exam date?

I passed at my PMP first attempt; the following resources helped me.

1) Rita book
2) Rita exam's simulation software
3) PMZilla; this site contains a lot of tips; looked out for tips by others who have passed their exams and their compiled notes

Good luck.

Thanks. I want to buy the Rita Book as well as Simulation Software. Is it available here in SG? Where to buy?
