corsair had such pride in their psu that they extend warranty from 7yrs to 10yrs
my existing one bought 10 yrs ago was 7yrs warranty and starting to fail
never had to claim any warranty though
was looking at the rmx but always oos
now looking for something cheaper

2 of my rm850 died in 3 and 2 years

FYI, I can see your confusion. I would disregard that google snippet. Depending on how the webmaster formatted the content, the way google bot/algo automatically scrapes info from the page, may not be accurate. Esp if a lot of similar text on the page. Just click into the page and you'll see the actual content.

As for the lazada sellers that list 1 year warranty, you can either check with TD, or the sellers, to confirm whether these are TD stock with 5-yr warranty.

Hi TS, I recently bought a SF LeadEx III Gold from Dynacore's FB page two weeks ago -- after reading HWZ feedback on this.

Delivery took a week to get to me in total, even though Dynacore told me it'd take 3 business days max. But, small matter because 1 week delivery in ** Covid period is understandable and still bearable.

Dynacore's listing says it has 5-years local warranty:

It's a good PSU -- you should go for it.

Corsair some series will suddenly die one
So far superflower/evga line never hear before

Yup, my Corsair Vs650 just died on me after 7 years at start of ** period.

But ok lah -- 7 years' usage. I can't complain.

(PS: Called Convergent and they told me Corsair PSU only 3 years warranty)

Want long warranty just buy Seasonic those series with 10 year warranty. 6 months into the PSU and I've never had to clean the PSU dust filter cos the fan doesn't even spin

so if distro warranty is lesser than manufacturer warranty, after distro warranty is it still covered by manufacturer?

Doesn't really matter, a lot of the users here, myself included owns the superflower. I personally bought it from dynacore, and they specifically told me TD has 5 years warranty.

Just take it as that should be enough.

Reseller doesn't mean they're official (need to take note) that's why they might get their PSU from somewhere else which only offers 1 year, or that 1 year comes out from their own pocket which is why it's much shorter.

Most of corsair is 2nd tier stuff which i wont bother. Most of their psus are just cwt oem. Inferior to seasonic and superflower. Of course their flagship axi series are the real stuff. Flextronics..that is same as delta and above those 2.

The only bad thing about superflower is the custom made connectors. Not many do custom cables for SF PSUs.

To TS, i think you are going a little off the trail, gathering all sorts of information everywhere and just putting into a bag making it as the truth. In short, this is a dissection of local major distros vs shops based in lazada.

Local Distros: Corbell, Ban Leong, Tech Dynamic, CDL Trading, Convergeant
Shops that i personally shop in: Dynacore, PC Themes, Mediamart, Vii PC, matrix cyber store, A genuiene technology,

In short, u can search for the brands/items in each distro and whatever warranty period stated in each brand/item listing is the correct info. No need go google for each manufacturer coz each distro will honor the warranty that is stated.

Also, each distro has their own sticker on the products they carry and they will honor warranty based on that sticker + receipt.

nah i'm not jesus and not stating anything but in fact confused about the truth

i just want to know the reliability of superflower and the actual warranty and who or what is covered
psu can last through a few builds so its worth paying more attention as a bad psu can cause lots of issues
more interested in the warranty coverage rather than the distro or reseller as long as they honor and don't shortchange on the manufacturer warranty
its not easy now with covid not being able to physically view the box to see the stickers or compare prices, with google becoming rubbish, with lazada..., excluding all the tech review all giving different numbers

Superflower and seasonic are the top OEM to various brands like corsair, evga, etc. Wun go wrong with either.

As for warranty period, check each distro website for more details. That is the complete and final one. Whatever warranty period does the manufacturer provide in USA is not applicable to local distro. Simple. The more you think and dig, the more confused you will be.

From a seasoned builder, I dun really see a need to physically view the item for warranty sticker. As long as you buy from reputable shop, you are very safe.

As for pricing, you can head over to PC theme facebook, at the side will show a dropbox link. Enter it and download their pricelist. Make sure its dated to the nearest last sat as it always updates on sat. I usually use that as a benchmark coz the prices are listed as retail prices. It will be same for most of the physical shops in sls. Then just compare against lazada pricing with discounts when applicable.

personally i take the other path
having experience buying components online before i value manufacturer warranty more
for branded like evga they have black and white on their website so there is a basis for comparison and reseller or distro warranty can generally be "ignored" as they typically cannot overwrite the manufacturer warranty which is stated and verified, anything fishy can just go direct to manufacturer instead of distro
for oem like superflower cannot find anything on their website so have to resort to researching and different results makes it confusing as it is then up to resellers and distro to "decide"
can pay lesser attention to warranty info placed on online platforms which mostly is mistake or purposely worded to mislead

warranty also becomes part of the equation if 2 brands are same price but having different warranty lengths

claiming warranty is off this topic


speaking of superflower being oem for evga, it seems that the psu it markets itself loses to evga on some aspects according to some review websites...

Btw, for majority of USA manufacturers, should you take up RMA request to them directly, they will ask for receipt. If verified to be bought from non USA retailers, they will ask you liaise with your local distro or shop that you bought from. At the end of the day, you will be back to square one i supposed.
