I dont really know the parts, i give my budget to the friendly staff, and told him what i said here. He helped me with all the parts and ask me whether i m alright with it anot then i agreed. he DIDNT pressure or persuade me to get this specs. As i said, since this is my first DIY computer, i wanted to really get a dam solid computer once and for all.

Actually, the process is never ending 1...technology keep advancing all the time...my last PC (C2D E6300 lasted 10 years)...in these 10 years, I replaced by myself:

1 x mobo and chip (mobo died after warranty..lppl...bought E6700 bundle becoz its cheap)
1 x PSU (died during warranty, RMA and got a new one)
1 x heatsink fan (bracket broke)
2 x HDD (HDD failure, manage to recover 90% of data)
1 x DVD writer (never replace...coz no more IDE drive in the mkt liao...and mobo got only 4 Sata which I need for HDD)

and upgraded SSD & GFX along the way...

the morale of the story is...it won't be once and for all...you will need to learn to troubleshoot and replace the damaged parts...at that point then you upgrade...try to choose parts based on usage rather than the top end stuff (the top end stuff will break eventually and no point paying extra for things you don't need)

and when they assemble for you, just stay around to watch...or u can look at youtube how they assemble...also look around the forum when pple ask for help when their PC cannot boot...it will help u to learn how to isolate and troubleshoot when your PC breaks down in the future...unless you wanna pay pple money to help you troubleshoot or build a new PC whenever your PC cannot boot...

its not rocket sci...just like lego...just read manual n follow instructions can liao...

my new rig I DIY myself ->
took me 5-6 hrs (too rusty liao)

He waived off the hardware n software installation for me.

got give discounts on the parts also or u never try asking?
They usually do if you ask nicely and buy a lot of parts from them...
waiver of hardware n software installation is quite standard if you build the whole PC from the same shop...

SLI very unstable for gaming at this moment. Do what everyone suggest. 1 GPU for now. If you want better just wait for TI or next titan to come out. Then you sell your current one and get a new one.

And you machiam kena con sia.

Take it as a lesson learnt. Everyone opened shop sure want earn money. So when you dunno much they sure take it as you're "ROBERT TOH"

DIY PC now machiam playing lego it's easy and if you want to learn or anything you can always ask people here or even go to OCN to check it out.
