As someone who has never been to Japan, which part of the country would you recommend going to first?

Tokyo. Easier to acclimatise yourself there first because it's really quite tourist friendly. After getting there and understanding how their transport works for the initial few days, then you'll be able to venture to other places with confidence when it comes to navigating their railways.

Although we are giving you suggestions, you should still decide for yourself. Despite having been to Tokyo so many times, I still have not gone near Mount Fuji or the five lakes around it, simply because I'm not that interested. Don't give in to the "FOMO" instinct (fear of missing out), just go where you want to. :)

Just spend all ur time in Tokyo. Tokyo is so big there is a lot to explore. If u like Disneyland/sea, that is a day each already. After that, next time, then go elsewhere.

Agree!
Going to Tokyo would be a good start.
I can't get enough of Tokyo.
There are really so many things to do , so many side trips from Tokyo as well.
So many good cafes !
It is really endless!

Sometimes, I feel like taking 1 year off to stay in Tokyo!

Asakusa is my favourite town in Tokyo!
I always stay there.
It is cheaper, rooms are bigger, place is quieter and easier to get the either airport (Haneda and Narita) as well!

Can consider using ChatGPT to make you a 6-day travel guide for Japan as no one knows your exact interest.

You can type in your specific request, it will give you an itinerary then you tweak it accordingly.

Someone on Reddit utilises ChatGPT.

Hi, What is ChatGPT?

My intention was 6 day trips to Tokyo, Osaka, sightseeing trip Hakone. Doable?

Any recommendation for 6 days Jap Itinerary for 2 pax? Mainly sightseeing, food, onsen.

1. Tokyo - 3 days
2. Kyoto - 2 days
3. Hakone -1 day

If we hop around hotel amount these 3 cities, is it feasible? Or should I take day tour for Hakone for the Mt Fuji rivercriuse?

Planning for a more cost effective trip. thx.

cost effective trip is skip kyoto..where u landing and departing from?
like my post above, if landing/departing tokyo then just do tokyo with day trip to hakone, if landing/departing kix then stay around the area.
