Hello i need help and advice building my gaming rig.

So far the specs i want my pc to have is:
-CPU+motherboard:Msi gaming 5 i5 4690k or should i go with the i7 4970?
-RAM:Kingston fury hyper X 12800/1600mhz 16gb or the 12800/18600mhz depending on stock
-ssd:samsung 850 evo 120gb or 250gb not sure which one?
-hdd:WD 1TB Blue HD
-casing:NZXT H440
-Power supply:corsair HX 750I 80+premium(overkill even if i OC?)
-OS:windows 8.1 or 7 IDK
-Graphics card:MSI NVIDIA GTX 970 4GB TF gaming
-Disk reader??
* Trying to keep just the pc under 2k excluding peripherals and monitor
1) What do you'll think of these specs?
2)is the i5 sufficient for just gaming?I don't do video editing so no reason to go with i7 right?
3)Is my power supply good enough to handle overclocking if i go with i5?
4)Do i need a cooling supply or are the fans in the NZXT casing enough?
5)How much space do i need for my SSD if i just want to put my OS and games(CS,COD,WoW,Hearthstone) on it?
6)Is a sound card needed?
7)Best shop to buy from @ SLS???? looking @ Best bargain, tradepac, PCthemes & laser distribution any others?

Monitor:
Not sure whether to go with AOC G2460 or BENQ XL2411Z or ASUS VG248Q3
Any recommendations?

Keyboard:
Razer Blackwidow tournament or RazerBlackwidow tournament stealth(Both are mech keyboards right ps?) or the Logitech G710 gaming mech keyboard
Any recommendations?

Thx for any help and advice given. It is greatly appreciated. Will post any other qns i have ltr!

2k or if it can be lowered to 1.8k for the pc that would be awesome.

500 for the monitor. Prefer 144hz

And less than 200 for the keyboard

Thanks Boss like your thread on how to build custom pc for first timers also!

If I want to overclock and go for the premium build would I need to go with the i5-4690k? And would that require me to upgrade my PSU? Is 16gb of RAM an overkill? Also I could go with the NZXT h440 casing right? Really like that casing haha.

Thanks for reading.

Not sure why do you really wanna overclock? Because more satki feel? Or just simply think there is a performance gain?

Overclocking + high end GPU would require you to buy a higher wattage PSU. So depends on what you really want.

16gb not really needed. Not unless you open tons of chrome tabs, or doing drawing programs.

You can go for the H440. Is really up to you.

Very hard to hit additional fps from a overclocking CPU.

If you really wanna know how much it will churn out. It will be single digit fps.

So the overclocking you do is really no effort.

970 will pull a lot of frame rate for CS Go, it isnt a very demanding game. And hence you should pull 100fps from the 970.

970 + normal CPU, you can go for 500w. It is more than sufficient.

970 + overclocked CPU just go for 600w.

Do tradepac help you assemble or is it a must to assemble yourself?

Go down to Nigel's shop at #02-32, pay him a small fee for him to assemble for you. Tradepac ah neh very crafty de, you ask them to fix for you, later you go home will missing screws, missing this missing that.

to know if your PSU is good enough. go and find a PSU calculator and do a simple calculation on how much power your set up will draw during idle as well as under load.

Is getting some parts from newegg a viable option or is it best just to get all the pc parts at one shop at SLS so that I can get a discount?
