I was at Funan Challenger Store yesterday (20 Jul) and the Orange Fitbit Flex(S$129) is having 10% off, and FREE 3 bands set (worth $39) for Challenger members.
I was abit reluctant due to bad reviews on batteries not charging and inaccuracy. Then came this man in early 40s, he was wearing a black flex and picking up one set…
I chat up with him… His flex is about 1.5yrs… battery is depleting very quickly now, hence is buying another one to replace. He also mentioned he had tried UP and fitness watches… but stick to Flexbit Flex. He’s advice is to clean as often as possible, especially after sweaty activities… He never go shower with it.
As for accuracy, he said its within good error range when compared his other devices during jogging… but not really for daily activities… “for its price, give and take abit and know yourself. It’s just FYI”
After that, I picked up the Orange and I signed up as member for $30... total damage: $141.60
After purchase, I went around Marina Bay for photography walk/stroll… from Funan, Singapore river, Victoria Hall, Fullerton, Financial, MBS, NDP platform, Esplanade and finally ended back to Victoria Hall... ONE big round
After about 3hrs…
Cal Burned
Runkeeper Apps: I burned 527cal for 160mins (But I did paused about 30mins collectively when I was inside buildings and quick lunch else GPS will run crazy on my tracking map!)
If I include 30mins into it… about 625cal
Flex shows I burned 730cal…
Differences : 105cal
Distance:
Runkeeper: Shows 8.1Km… but there were some GPS error… maps shows I was in the middle of river and dashed into Gardens by the Bay… so I will take 1.5km worth out… = about 6.6km
Flex shows 6.1KM covered.
Sleep:
Nothing to compared with. I was died tired... and the sleep tracking shows 1 x awake(huge body movement) and 29x restless (small movements)
