Wow. So many exercise buff here. *clap* *clap* *clap* I have way more sleep data than exercise data. :D

Once I scratched my watch against the window frame. There was a long line. I couldn’t rub it away initially. Later, I used rubbing alcohol with a little bit of “wrist grease”and was able to remove it. No harm giving this a go. Maybe the paint transfer was from the other object to the watch.

On something else totally unrelated, I just found out I could clear each notification by swiping right. ;)

Haha people get fitness watches for a reason ya? Lol..

Went from a charge 2 to a Samsung gear sports which I thought it will be better.. unfortunately HR, sports tracking, sleep tracking really inferior compared to charge 2. So quickly flip it away for the versa and never regretted.

Sent from Samsung SM-G965F using GAGT

You all, the exercise buffs, should keep reminding the rest of us to exercise. :D I hope to go cycling tonight. It would be my 2nd exercise since I got the Versa. =:p

Thanks for sharing about Samsung. :) The Charge 2 is a very nice tracker, but yes, I like Versa better too. Fitbit is also better than Garmin, but I think they are not as good at making money. Really hoping Fitbit can turnaround soon without selling the watches at higher prices.

Rumor has it that Apple will release Series 4 with sensor straps (eg, blood pressure monitor). Knowing Apple, they will figure out how to lock out unauthorized 3rd party straps and sell at sky high price. That’s another reason why I support Fitbit. They are a good alternative and not as ruthless.

Filial child. :) Yes, for older people definitely BP is useful.

Omron has one submitted for FDA approval. Process needs 1 year. But I think it’s not auto, meaning, you lift wrist to heart level and measure BP. So I wonder what’s the use? Really curious what Apple would produce.

Can versa be used as an alarm clock without setting it from handphone? Is the alarm vibration strong to wake a person up?

Thanks in advance

Yes can set via the watch itself.
Quite strong vibration. Normally I already woke up by my phone's alarm.. so cant answer you this.

My Garmin Vivosmart used to wake me up without fail. I love it because it is possible not to wake the other half up when I get up in the morning.

With the Versa, I can wake up most of the time, but it is not as consistent. I could feel the watch vibration through the original silicone band, so the chances of waking up is higher. When I swapped to the Milanese strap, I no longer feel it on the strap. In the Settings, it is possible to crank the “Vibrations” up to “Strong”. I am still using “Normal” though, so that may not be fair to Versa.

Haha so it is dependent on strap to feel the vibration

I saw from other forum charge 2 vibration is weak

My purpose is to buy for my MIL who is sleeping w the baby, she wan a silent alarm as any sound would wake the baby..

When you buy a tracker for a senior citizen, be prepared to provide support. They are generally willing to learn, but you have to be patient as sometimes you have to repeat something multiple times. For example, they can be very confused that the clock time cannot be set directly on the watch. You do it by syncing with the mobile phone. There is definitely a learning curve given the numerous features.

I feel it is better that the younger people learn to use the tracker before getting one for the senior citizen. If you own a tracker or smart watch, maybe you can let your MIL try, to be sure a vibrating device on her wrist can wake her up. If you don't, I would think it is better to get one for yourself first.

PS: I just realized this could be your first child and her first grandchild. If this is the case, it may be better to look for a silent alarm clock, with only vibration, on the mobile phone. There are ways around it. Hopefully, phone is not placed too near the head. Congratulations on your new baby. :)

Personally the versa alarm doesn't work for me. Still have to depend on my mobile to wake me up everyday.
